Rumors Of Hip-Hop’s Death Have Been GREATLY Exaggerated, PROOF!

If Hip-Hop should die before I wake, I’ll Load up the extended clip and body them all day!”

The conversation and claims that Hip-Hop has died has been circulating for a minute and only heighten when Nas claimed it as his Def Jam debut title. But on some REAL TALK like Loso. If you ask me Hip-Hop is alive and breathing well, and these albums/ mixtapes prove it.

Lupe- Fiasco’s Food & Liquor

Styles P- Time Is Money

and there is plenty more albums where that came from. What’s dead is the false friendship Hip-Hop seemed to have with mainstream. What’s dead is the ability to have radio play just great muisc as opposed to what the program director’s list say. Real Hip-Hop is alive and like the Boyz II Men song ’Doing Just Fine’. It’s just up to us as the fans to make sure it stays that way.

So Holla! And Have A Happy New Year Bitches!!!!!!!!

First of all, HIP HOP is not dead. It has been around for many years and will continue to thrive in our day and time. The only thing that is different, is CHANGE. First we had the rope chains, adidas, cardboard boxes for breakin, spray-paint, etc…now it’s 24 inch shoes on my whip, bling-bling, grillz. Time brings change and if NAS and other rappers cant deal with it, then HOLLA.
And to whomever wrote the above article, please use spell check, you idiot. Makes people wonder, just how stupid are you.

……….damn! what if hip hop really goes globle, and motherfucka’s from bangladesh or nepal, or even china really put forth an effort to become rap artists………..and the big time businesses (big businesses that consist of nothing but globle constituents, most outside of american interest) who fund the the record companies…….suppose they suddenly realize the profit from endorsing their own (native) young people (this would cut down on the culture shock raw american hip hop brings with it.). It would be their “opinion” that they have the new and improved hip hop sound, and in time pretty much the globe would follow……….. leaving the (black) american rap star with just a fraction of the spot light he has now. …………..how could this happen? because he didn’t properly construct the boundries of his creation and thereby putting his stamp on it, making it his. to patten it so to speak! taking what’s considered hip hop outside of “opinion”………..but instead he let the boundries move from outside of himself……..hip hop is a art form, but no art form is without purpose. hip hop is also a tool to express an experience, its a tool like no other, especially to a oppressed people in the world….. it is important to put your stamp on your creation/tool, or someone else will put their stamp on it and impose his-tory; than take your mic, your spot light, your means of pointing out injustices that scar etc………… yes other peoples experiences are just as valid as our own, but this is our raff in this dead sea of oppression, and we still have much to tell……… somethings are not up to “opinion”, sometimes my opinion is right because I say it is…………

HIP-HOP IS DEAD!!NO MORE BLACK & PROUD!!JUST FU*K HER HARD!!GET 22″ RIMS, GET ALOT OF GUNZ!! ALOT OF THE WRONG SHIT SAID!!KILLING THE RAP GAME FOR THE KIDS ITS NOT FUN…WHEN THEIR TURNED TO juvenile court for being who they listen to

HIP HOP WILL NEVER DIE. I TOLD YALL THAT WHEN NAS CALLED HIS ALBUM HHID IT WAS APUBLICITY STUNT. PEOPLE NEED TO STOP ALL THAT NOISE ABOUT HIM BEING IN IT FOR THE LOVE OF HIP HOP. NAS HAS A FAMILY THAT HE HAS TO TAKE CARE OF & THIS IS A BUSINESS. THIS IS THE SAME CAT WHO DID RADIO TRACKS WITH GINUWINE & LIL JON.

HIP HOP WILL ONLY DIE WHEN IT’S NO LONGER ALOWED TO GROW.
    P.S. IT’S ALREADY GLOBAL!!!

Hip-Hop is dead in the respect tht niggas like chingy or camron or even fuckin gucci mane get play. How in the hell did these niggas get deals. Let’s not mention Nelly who is the farthest from hip-hop. It is dead because the companies don;t put out niggas that can rap, they putout niggas dats cute to girls. Also, jus because these niggas sold crack don’t u make yo damn album about that shot when we done heard it all. How many times have we heard crack stories, oz’s, birds, bricks, snow and etc. Niggas tired of that shit. You blow up for what you sold and your status n the streets not your creativity and rhymes. Partially, hip hop is not dead, it jus got the flu.

………its not truly globel until other countries start to push out rap superstars of the magnitude of american rap artists…… the world is pretty much watching us and following our lead right now……

  13. 13 evenwhenilie Dec 31st, 2006 at 9:53 am

……..p.s., if it was actually global, jay would have been able to do a show in china……. and I see you all are still making the mistake of thinking that change always equal growth…… most of the time change means just what nas said……..the death of hip hop…. because it definitely isn’t what it was. The drugs, the self hate, false identities (confussion of who we are as a people), greed and envy of your brother man, prolific writers have been replaced with morbific ones. this is the death of hip hop, hip hop was always about the soul and the essence of our experience, so you can not use material gains as a way to guage its growth. change only sometime equal growth, but definitely not in this case, hip hop is dead. the original creators of this craft had thoughts of kings rushing through their minds, now its the thoughts of slaves, and the glorification of the slave mind set……..and you’re going to try and convince me nothing of value has died…… please!

  14. 14 evenwhenilie Dec 31st, 2006 at 10:41 am

………just like islam has its pillars, so does hip hop for all those who are too young to know. dj-ing, rap, graffiti, and breakin, these are the original four pillars of hip hop………. and it was understood that creativity with some greater purpose in mind was our intent, because purpose was the only thing that could lift us out of (not just our economic status) the negative mind set that was us. people forget that ny had a gang problem in the 70’s, and violence was rampant…..hip hop was the messiah, our christ so to speak! the four pillars of hip hop has been replaced with greed, back stabbing, morbid capitalism, and a strong disrespect for black women; these are the four pillars of hip hop now. yes nas is right, hip hop is dead. now we’re just entertainment for the powers that be. something for them to laugh out loud at. real hip hop was meant to expose our oppressers, free our minds, unite people of all colors and backgrounds. if you’re not in agreement with nas, then stay here on this plantation, I heard they freed the slaves so I’m running north………see how history repeats itself….

  16. 16 It's Dead B*tch Dec 31st, 2006 at 11:54 am

Hiphop is so dead that you call these albums hot.. wake up

  17. 17 SweetPidi Dec 31st, 2006 at 3:19 pm

HipHop is giving birth to new genres…..I think when people are saying HipHop is dead it is because they are stuck in a timewarp…..For example Nas reminds me of KRS-One when he was saying the same thing ten years ago. He would say oh HipHop ain’t like it use to be. Rappers like Nas need to retire and give it up. They are not feeling the younger HipHoppers because they are not young any more. They just don’t understand it. For example, my fiance says the same thing. He is stuck in that 92′ to 94′ era. An era were rappers were seen carrying baseball bats, wearing OPP jackets and wearing timbs all season for ass kicking reasons……
In ten years Jeezy (if still alive) will be saying the same thing.

  18. 18 evenwhenilie Dec 31st, 2006 at 5:11 pm

……if rappers like nas should retire, then the new ones should cut their own throats…

……….rappers like nas, mos def, jay-z, kanye west, talib……. these are some of hip hop’s front line defense… notice they are all in their late 20’s to 30’s…. todays new artists have zero discipline or structure, and they don’t have a overstanding of our overall situation. people of color are engaged in a psychological warfare, and the last time we made a move on the chess board was when martin luther king jr. allowed children to march while white policemen opened up waterholes and released trained police dogs on them in front of international cameras, thereby showing the world that they were the animals, this new generation has allowed them to turn the tables not only with their crime rate, but with their music as well. We haven’t made a chess move in our defense since then (our master chess players are dying, but with no replacements), but in terms of hip hop music….. jay’s album is a sign of the times, because it is a ‘proper’ response to niggas (in their 20’s & 30’s) walkn round with their paints hangn off their fuckn asses etc., its time to grow the fuck up…… I mean, is life immitating art, or is art immitating life, and do young stupid motherfuckas know the fuckn difference anymore….. nas’s album is another chess move, right next to nwa’s earlier moves, and public enemy’s…… its a move that shows awareness in a time when most are mindlessly talking bullshit.

  19. 19 evenwhenilie Dec 31st, 2006 at 5:23 pm

………p.s., nas, jay-z, mos def, and other rappers that younger people call old, are the ones that are young, you guys are babies!

  20. 20 Jappy Jan 1st, 2007 at 4:01 pm

kingdom come, time is money, fat joes album, da backwudz, snoop, the game, ray cash, and field mob dont deserve shit for their albums this year, they all sucked, or were way overratted jst bcuz of their name (jay-z, snoop, the game, fat joe)

and lil wayne im seeing here?
ok he has some game in him like in hollywood divorce
    but his album?
    NO
    kissin his dad?
    NO

  21. 21 evenwhenilie Jan 1st, 2007 at 6:46 pm

……..kingdom come was a classic, stop lying to yourself. he’s keepn it real, for real! he’s the only emcee right now that has always talked about what he lived… early on it was drugs, money, hoes, and marzy projects, now its shit that’s over niggaz heads because his life style is over niggaz heads…….so just because you can’t relate to the new jigga, don’t mean his shit is wack…… the lyrics is still tight, its just his topics has changed alittle…..he still talks about material shit though, but I can still tell he’s been to the mountian top of corp. america, he’s sat at the foot of the burning bush of corp. america, and yes its effected him…… atleast he isn’t blowing smoke up your ass in his lyrics like he’s still slingn crack in the hood like other [rich] emcees…..

  22. 22 eb Jan 1st, 2007 at 7:33 pm

niggaz are just hating b/c the south is holding it down… the nas album was dope but he has been dropping duds lately, so he had to make a title that would spark some niggaz brains, just so niggaz could buy it cause his last 2 albums were garbage… and so is most of the shit that is comming from new york… if their music was any good people would be buying it… now that the south is getting so much play niggaz from other regions are hating b/c you dont hear that b/s on the radio or the t.v. little wayne is a dope ass rapper stop hating, yeah that kissing baby shit was suspect but music wise he is killing it, if you dont think so listen to the mixtapes that he and young jeezy is putting out… Jay-z has been over rated and always will be… him and naz were treated like hoes when Pac put them on blast.. then they started sucking his dick when he died.. yeah it’s good to show respect to a dead nigga, but if he was still alive Jay-z, Naz, 50, and a lot of these lame azz niggas wouldnt get no play… in the east coast ya’ll keep doing hip-hop.. down south we will make music…. Fuck ya’ll haters

  23. 23 evenwhenilie Jan 1st, 2007 at 8:40 pm

………the south ant been holdn down nothing but the south, and you can only speak for the south if you are from there. and every body keep using pac name to validate their arguement, as if that nigga is fuckn flawless…. I think it would be very theraputic to your man-hood to say fuck 2 pac! since his death a lot of wisdom, lyrical skillz, even supernatural powers have been attributed to his persona that did not exist while he was alive…… we all seen this before, I guess that’s why the messiah has to die, subconsciously we push him to death so we can make him what we need him to be, so he can then validate our convictions. we forget that it was because of this nigga people got killed due to his own insercurities, and lack of man-hood…. momma boys typically act tough inorder to confirm their manhood. collectively speaking, its typical for other momma boys to follow suit……

I just finished reading all of the responses here and I must say that hip hop can’t be dead with all of this passionate disagreement going on. I think of hip hop now as a early twenty something dude. It trying to figure out what it wants to be. With all of the different directions you can go in life, you just start to live in the moment and it is all about the materialistic aspects of your life. I think this is where hip hop is at. It will grow up eventually or just go the route of jazz, blues, r&b, and all the other forms of black music that disappeared from the limelight.
