I was reading blogs today and I ran across a couple of blogs talking different things being overrated and what not. It inspired me to write something of my own because in hip-hop alot of cats are quick to say an album is this or that without any proof whatsoever to substantiate it. And cats are quick to throw around that word classic. I remember Jay said he made some wild number of classics (I think 3-4 and this is on the blueprint album) which is not true at all. I’ll give the guy 2 (reasonable doubt and blueprint).

Lets be real, the media is twisting what Russell is saying. Which is basically that rappers can say bitch, hoe, nigga on there albums cause its there “artistic” right, but that “mainstream” radio and videos should edit the words out (there‘s a reason why albums have parental advisory labels). All of this “editing” is something that has been done for years, so if radio is already doing this shit What The Fact is the reason for Russell bringing it up? Now that Hiphop has become the fall guy and girl for teaching old ass Don Imus how to say “nappy-headed wench” oops I mean “hoe”, and for turning young girls and women into strippers so we can exploit them in our videos even though strip clubs and stripping predates Hiphop by at least 5000 years, and for introducing and making the word nigger popular amongst Americans of all ages, I guess the next logical step is to blame Hiphop for law enforcements agencies inability and unwillingness to solve the assaults, rapes, and murders in our communities.
Scenario: Cam’ron is being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper who asks Cam what if you lived next to a serial killer? You wouldn’t say anything. Cam’s response will go down as the dumbest shit EVER spoke by a human being. He said, naw I wouldn’t say he lived in like apartment 4E. I’d probably just move to another apartment.
Cam, that doesn’t make you a snitch…That makes you a lame and lightweight pussy. Rappers been rolling with C.O.s aka bodyguards. I don’t know any niggas from the hood w/badges that rock security vests.
Sometime’s you got to own up to your mistakes or should I say assumptions. I?m American
and when this Duke case hit, I’m guilty as charged of thinking that these Duke kids were
well “guilty until proven innocent.” How can you blame me though? Look at the backdrop.
Duke University, White privileged Lacrosse players, the South, the 400 year-history of
white men taking advantage of black women… I mean I can go on forever.

The whole world seems to be still shaken up over the whole massacre that happen in Virginia Tech a few days ago, and well they should be. This whole thing was one of the worst of the worst tragedies to happen in America. Yet I couldn’t help thinking as I watch the continues video play of the sicko’s rants and pictures of him holding up two 9mm’s posing for the camera, whose to blame for this man? The only reason why I bring this up is because of the railroading Atlanta rapper Pastor Troy has suffered over a seriously disturbed man who killed an police officer that may have listen to one of his songs.
Common, Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Kevin Lyles and others speak on Imus and the Hip Hop communities responsibility. In case you missed it heres the video.

Once upon a time, smoking an expensive blunt used to be enough for rappers but alas it’s a new day. And in true rapper/ignoramus fashion, they’ve decided to up the ante. Fucking dumbasses!!! Now, more and more E-pill references are popping up. And I’ve even went to concerts and saw rappers grinding their teeth and doing other general tweek out shit. I’ve even heard rappers openly admitting they sniff blow; from pushing work to sniffin’ it. Ain’t that a bitch. Now, the coca ain’t really hit as hard as the pills but niggas need to get they mind right. Doesn’t that shit put holes in your brain or some shit like that; not to mention other fruity and sus behaviors. Maybe that’s why you hear all this BS on the radio.
