Real Recognize Real, Russell Expoliting The Situation To Promote His Book!

Lets be real, the media is twisting what Russell is saying. Which is basically that rappers can say bitch, hoe, nigga on there albums cause its there “artistic” right, but that “mainstream” radio and videos should edit the words out (there‘s a reason why albums have parental advisory labels). All of this “editing” is something that has been done for years, so if radio is already doing this shit What The Fact is the reason for Russell bringing it up? Here’s Two reason I’ve gather from what I’ve seen:

  • The man is just using this as a tool to get on TV and promote his new book.
  • Shifting The Blame Back On The Companies.

Like come on people if you don’t see the game Russ playing you need to open your eyes. People want to turn it into a “Russell Is Mad At Hip-Hop”, but in truth he’s really shifting the pressure back on the “Companies”. By saying something that’s already in effect, he’s trying to strike a conversation where people start looking at the Clear Channels, BET’s, Hollywood’s, etc of the world and saying “You guys need to clean up what you are doing”.

How come shows like “Sex in The City” (which is basically about four white girls being sophisticated sluts) get critical acclaim and violent movies get all this love yet Hip-Hop steady gets shitted on. No comment let’s just keep this moving shall we? Yeah we will.

This should have never been an issue of Hip-Hop in the first place. It was basically a matter of some idiot making inappropriate comments that would lead to him being fired at any other job. Real recognize real and I see you Russell. He just played the game on CNN, Fox and MSNBC for more plug time for his now Top Seller book “Do You”. This is chess not checkers!

Like I said earlier Russell isn’t trying to take away anything from Hip-Hop artist and he isn’t switching sides. Every time I seen him on these “Talk Shows” the host appears to make it as though he’s coming out to bash rappers, but he’s really defending them. Only thing he’s bashing is the need for the MEDIA in general to clean up instead of targeting one thing. If you’re going to get mad at rappers using these words and images then Hollywood has to take a hit to. Props to Russell for exploiting the issue to “Do Him”, peace.

Yo! Well spotted! Dude needs air time to promote his shit.

That being said, we need to recognise that hip hop needs a make over. Though i see your point bout “sex and the city” and all, …that dont excuse some of the problems that affecting black communities. Personally, i dont care about the profanities which everyone seems to be mad about. That shit ought to be edited for radio as you pointed out. But i have a problem with glorifying black on black crime. I fucking tired of buying a CD and all the Nigga chats about is shooting someone that looks like me. It dont matter if its Team arliss, 50 cent, ..they all do it. Why dont these guys sing about shooting a white boy for a change?
