W.A.T.W.- Versatility the double edged sword?

Worth a thousand words banner
I’m 80% convinced that the best way to understand what I’m trying to do with my music is to listen to my body of work as a whole. That may be my downfall because I’m still fairly unknown and every impression counts. Its amazing to me how everyone feels that Hip-Hop lacks versatile emcees but when someone actually attempts to bring something different to the table it goes on deaf ears, Don’t think I’m using my own music as the selling point for this argument, theres a whole bunch of artist new and old that I feel are not getting there proper respect. I personally feel lyrics are suppose to go over your head somewhat, so it makes you want to rewind it back until you fully understand. Don’t get me wrong It shouldn’t be as hard to understand as Shakespeare but on the other hand It shouldn’t be as easy to understand as Dr. Seuss. When I make music I try to keep it interesting for the listener even when I’m intentionally going over there heads by way of the delivery or just by the soundtrack behind it. Somebody once told me that either may be the reason I’m looked at as a great emcee one day or the reason why I will not be. I can’t call it, I guess we’ll find that out after May 13th, 2008 (the day For What Its Worth drops on Itunes)
My new mixtape Net Worth will be available for free download sometime in the next couple of days so be on the look out

I feel what you saying homie! The reality is that you have to kick nursery rhymes to appeal to people who are brain washed. But don’t get it f*cked up Dr. Seuss wasn’t spitting nursery rhymes, his joints was thigh as hell, not that “ See Spot Run” Sh!t. Keeping it real is more than just wearing fancy cloths and walking with a bob. Its about telling the truth even when it hurts.
