With all the press, flack, and other coverage Nas has been getting whether positive or negative over “Nigga” being his intended album name I thought it made sense to post something to remind everyone about how frequently the “Nigga” word keeps coming up in the Media without Nas. Now its the whole Dog The Bounty Hunter making comments about “Niggers” thats now hitting media outlets.
Sometime’s you got to own up to your mistakes or should I say assumptions. I?m American
and when this Duke case hit, I’m guilty as charged of thinking that these Duke kids were
well “guilty until proven innocent.” How can you blame me though? Look at the backdrop.
Duke University, White privileged Lacrosse players, the South, the 400 year-history of
white men taking advantage of black women… I mean I can go on forever.
The whole world seems to be still shaken up over the whole massacre that happen in Virginia Tech a few days ago, and well they should be. This whole thing was one of the worst of the worst tragedies to happen in America. Yet I couldn’t help thinking as I watch the continues video play of the sicko’s rants and pictures of him holding up two 9mm’s posing for the camera, whose to blame for this man? The only reason why I bring this up is because of the railroading Atlanta rapper Pastor Troy has suffered over a seriously disturbed man who killed an police officer that may have listen to one of his songs.
I’mma keep it 100. I told one of my co-workers this about 3-4 months ago and she denied it up and down. First, there’s rumors that Jay and Beyonce were on the rocks. Then, rumors that Beyonce is pissed Jay’s on the phone with RiRi talking pretty often. Then Beyonce releases “Ring the Alarm,” a track about not getting her man stole by a slut. Somewhere along that timeline Jay and Rihanna dropped a single together, which is somewhat random. I mean besides the fact that she’s on Def Jam–and many artists are but definitely are not seeing features from Hov–there’s not much of a connection.
“And all these little rappers don’t know how prepared for them I am, I AM”
- Jay-Z “Oh My God”
Well after the Roc-A-Fella split and the so-called Jay-Z retirement there’s been a lot of shots thrown at the Jigga Man. And now that he’s returned with an album most seem to not be feeling (Kingdom Come), shots are being fired rapidly in the midst of daylight. It seems that war has been declared, and Jay is prime target.
Well… well…well look what we have here. Last night I flipped the channel from the Nas BET Access Granted for Hip-Hop Is Dead (during a commercial break people) to take a look at everyone’s favorite hypocrite Bill O’ Reilly. And what is this “Protector Of The American Way” talking about…none other than Snoop D. O. double G. Yea apparently the Dog Father (remember that from his No Limit days) got himself in some trouble AGAIN with Johnny Law right after an appearance on Jay Leno’s show.
Seems like Bun is on a war path as of late. After just dropping the controversial new UGK song “Quit Hating The South”, he has a new target in range. The Black Exploitation Network, better known as BET.It wasn’t to long ago that rumors were flying that a popular New York radio host (cough Funkmaster Flex cough) was caught up in the whole payola game. Case you kiddies don’t have a clue what payola is, it’s when someone tells you that you have to pay for play. And so it seems that’s the claim of The Underground King himself.Apparently it’s being quoted that Bun said Bet wanted some extra love (and I’m not talking groupies) to play the video for his single “Swang” off Trill. Hold up, how you going to shit on B like that? What the hell is going on when the so-called network of the people don’t give two cents about the people unless you giving them two cents. It makes me wonder about how performance mysteriously disappeared during the 106 And Jay special. You heard the crowd screaming their name, but next thing you know the show is repeating it’s self with no UGK in sight.
Damn man like the Bubba Sparxxx track it’s getting ‘Ugly’! or should I say ‘Super Ugly’? The rumblings have been going on for a minute, since the explosion of The South onto the scene. It’s seems as though there was no way to avoid, a Hip-Hop Civil War. What is this marvel comics? Are we all kids mad that someone else is playing on your monkey bars? Lyrical shots have been finally fired on wax due to the legendary UGK’s no song “Quit Hatin’ The South”.
Okay man enough is enough! There’s just been to much idiotic comments coming from all sorts of angles on the topic of Nasir’s new album title “Hip-Hop Is Dead”. Seems as though he was better off just calling it “Nigga”. Everyone is twisting and turning the concept, even catching feelings. People it’s not that serious…or is it?
