A year later and the un-bannable (Can’t Ban The Snowman!) is back with that crack. After supplying the trappers with some motivation, Jeezy returns with 'The Inspiration'. A blazing compilation of Hood Bangers and more. Jeezy has some unfinished business, putting ATL on his back as he presents his ode to the street life.
This album isn’t without its faults, there’s the skip-able “Hypnotized”. Where Jeezy attempts to capture you with his raspy voice and command that you get on your grind. It seems very dragging and slightly annoying.. The production on this album once again is pure fire!!! An great example is the lead single “I Luv It”. Where Jeezy makes reference to his old crew (Boyz N Da Hood) saying “Yea I blew up, but they like that/ They switched up on me, and I ain't like that/ Sold my first brick yea, I came right back/Fast forward the tape, ni**a look at me now” almost taunting his former homies about his solo success.
A stand out gem is “Bury Me A G”. A song I just can’t stop banging. Jeezy shows a little more depth with his lyrics. Showing a more remorseful side instead of the continuous coke boast. “I was on some Kanye West shit, trying to Touch The Sky/ Jesus Walks gotta Testify/ I’m a Legend like John, Ordinary people/ you only get one life, there’s no sequels... so I gotta thank God for waking me up this morning/ and givig me this air to breathe/ please Lord forgive me for every gram I sold/ every glock I popped/ every rock I shopped”, this song is definitely a Street Soldier's Anthem. Somehow achieving what is view as increasingly impossible now for rappers, Mr. Adlibs got himself a Timberland track. Which is another truck rattler called “3 a.m.”.
The tag-team producers known for Rick Ross smash “Hustlin” team up with The Snowman and Keyshia Coles for “Dreamin”. Instead of reinventing the style that made them famous, much like when they produced Fat Joe’s “Clip and Revolve” they go for a new sound. Jeezy is back on a introspective vibe, wasn’t really feeling Keyshia on the hook but Jeezy went hard on the track. :”Ma smoking rocks, same shit I’m sellin’/ so whose grown her or me/ she addicted to the high, I‘m addicted to the cash/ almost put my hands on her when I found her in my stash? “ We see Jeezy growing more and more as an artist, being willing to expose himself to the fans.
Enlisting Hip-Hop heavy hitters, “I Got Money” features not only the self-proclaimed King of The South T.I. but the Louis Vuitton Don as well. Over a blazing DJ Troop track the trio do what they do best, brag. But don’t get it twisted it’s a certified club banger with single potential. I said it before and I will again, if you looking for raw lyrical skills slap yourself for looking toward Jeezy. But if you want that Ryder Music to bang through your system, then 'The Inspiration' is what you crave. The sophmore jinx has no effect, it’s winter time and so The Snowman is back to freeze your ears with the coldness.
