From the way it looks in hip-hop right now the Bay area is hip-hop's next big stop. The Bay has already brought legends to the game with Too Short, Luniz Tuniz, Mac Dre, E-40 and now some new blood has arrived that goes by the name of Mistah F.A.B. After building a heavy buzz in the streets of Oakland, Ca with his flawless rhymes and danced crazed hyphy hits Fabby Davis Jr. is something to check for in the next generation of hip-hops elite. Giving a quick appetizer showing his talent Mistah F.A.B. comes strong with the "Baydestrian" his new independent release before the highly anticipated release "The Yellow Bus Rydah". On some Real talk this is one of the most balanced albums to drop in hip-hop this year so far and let me tell you why.
"The Baydestrian" has it all as Mistah F.A.B. gives you the hyphy, comedy, and real life stories. Representing they Bay's hyphy movement at the fullest is 'The Baydestrian' which is the opening track to the album. 'The Baydestrian' track is a banger, but the only thing is that if your not familiar with the hyphy sound it might be hard for you to feel. Hyphy tracks jump off again with 'Race 4 Ya Pink Slippers' and 'Dem Cars'. These two tracks are decent and it's finally good to hear something new.
What you can dig most about F.A.B. is his comedy style rapping. The dude is just hilarious and theres nothing wrong with having fun in your music. If you want to get your laugh on then 'Furley Ghost', 'Fight Music', and 'Side Show' which features Too Shot and Keak Da Sneak are what it's hitting for. This is what makes this album raw as it touches all subjects, something that artists today seem to lack. While Mistah F.A.B. is hyphy to the fullest and a comedian the man gets my respect for his talk on some serious life issues.
'Life On Track' is one song in which Fabby Davis is spitting seriously. He touches on the hardships of the ghetto and why it hard for some to make it out. I related to this deeply as I'm from the same environment and seen everything this songs talks about. 'Jamonie Robinson' is something anybody that lost someone close can feel whether your from the hood or not. Mistah F.A.B. is a lyrical dude and this may surprise many. Closing out, the 'Baydestriian' album is full of fun, laughter, and spreads a message so go ahead and cop a hot album on the independent tip.
