Bow Wow and Omarion is something the music listener should check for, especially when the two young men can make hits. One of the hottest records Bow Wow and Omarion put together was “Let Me Hold You”, that record was big wasn’t it? The crazy thing about it is that you have Bow Wow who is a young rapper and Omarion who is also a young R&B singer, the two have plenty of years ahead of them. Now the two decided to collab which will have the teenage girls screaming even more. With the new album “Face Off” Bow Wow and Omarion does show tha they can do more than just a single. They give you a full album.
The album starts off strong with the self-titled track “Face Off”. The two musical artists perform well on this too as their chemistry was excellent. Bow Wow and Omarion let you know from the jump what the album will be hitting for at all aspects. While Omarion is doing his thing singing on the beat in a timely manner Bow Wow on the other hand let’s you know they will crush the game. Following up right after that is “Hood Star” where Bow Wow and Omarion show off their swagger on how they do it big and can give any girl the world of their dreams.
Taking it back to the time when these two dropped “Let Me Hold You” it comes back again with “Girlfriend”. This is the perfect hit for the ladies and the way these two laid it down on this track it’s easy to understand why the females go crazy for them. Everything possible incorporated to make a hit song was well developed on this one. What made it a hot song was how Omarion did his thing in the beginning singing to perfection. Bow Wow then had the nice flowing words for the ladies that they will love. Women have a softness for beautiful words (as quoted in Robert Green’s book “The Art of Seduction”). The format of the song was dope as it didn’t follow the usual R&B/Hip-hop artist format with the rapper rhyming on all three verses and the R&B singer just doing the hook. Omarion came on first then Bow Wow did his job and at the end they both came strong.
Now it was times on “Face Off” where Bow and O just tried to do a little too much. Take a listen to “Hey Baby” (Jumpoff) and see. The sound was a little too “Poppish” taking away from the R&B/hip-hop vibe the two usually smash when they get to-together. The verses from Bow Wow was just a little weak and Omarion just wasn’t getting it. There are times though when you are checking out a girl and you want to get at her, but she has a man. As you watch you see her man treats her very bad and you want to step in. If you ever been in that situation “He Ain’t Gotta Know” is the track for you. This time though instead of just taking the girl away ya’ll just have a side thing going on, hey the song says he don’t gotta know right, but it’s good music too and that’s the whole point.
If Omarion and Bow Wow continue to make music who knows what the future holds for these two. The creativity and even just the idea of “Face Off” was genius. Putting these two together for an album was a great idea in the first place. Now I’m not saying this is the best R&B/hip-hop album ever, but it shows how big it can get with these two, shit you have to experiment in life and start somewhere. All in all “Face Off” was a good match, something you can kick back and relax to.
