Death of the Female Rapper

Article by: Ashley West-Nesbitt

PapooseIts Friday night and you’re up in the club looking fresh. The dance floor is packed with sweaty bodies dry-humping strangers and the Dj is feeding everybody’s habit to dance all night long. Hyping the crowd up he screams into the mike, “ Do the ladies run this mutha…” And the congregation of booty-dropping females screamed,” Hell yeah!” right back making the night theirs. But outside the club, especially in Hip-Hop, females ain't running nothing.

Obviously it’s no secret that men dominate Hip-Hop. Out of every male crew, there seems to be room for only one worthy female for them to sponsor in to the rap game. From the platinum-plus album sales, endorsement campaigns and Hollywood movie deals, male rappers seem to represent the face of Hip-Hop while the presence of real female emcees are becoming extinct. It’s rare to come across a female emcee that is lyrically superior and who will challenge herself to deliver superb hits that touch on a variety of subjects that will showcase her skills as a supreme wordsmith- not a supreme sex lyricists. But unfortunately that’s the type of female rapper industry heads are pushing out. The type with designers clothes pasted on them and a mountain of weave on top of their head shouting into the mic that they are the truth but after one hit they flop. Why? Because after all the extensive publicity, their transparent lyrics get chopped-up and the only thing left that stands out clearly is their triple x makeovers.

People are getting tired of buying into gimmicks. And it shows because sales for some female rappers are plummeting. Maybe seeing the same female rap clones talking about the same mess - sex, materialism, and men- over and over again frustrates listeners. If rappers are going to talk about the same topics at least flip-it to make it appear brand new because its coming to be a point where if a consumer purchases one female rap album they bought them all. Its crazy to spend your money on something that lacks originality and depth, right?

However, there are few main female rappers like Eve, Foxy Brown, Lil’ Kim, Shawnna and Remy Martin who are attempting to break the cycle and hold it down as queens of Hip-Hop. Yet with their street images and understated talents, some of these ladies haven’t been able to maintain their respectable careers as rappers. Eve--one of the realest rappers that spoke directly to their female audience about being in love or being in abusive relationships--put down the mic briefly to make moves with her sitcom and clothing label. Foxy Brown and Lil’ Kim, two of Hip-Hop’s reigning female rappers seem to struggle with resurrecting their lyrical--not tabloid-careers. After the success of their classic debut albums, both artists have failed to follow-up with a solid album without their male companions. From legal to personal troubles, Foxy Brown and Lil Kim seem to have lost focus and got caught up in the ugly side of rap--a side that many artist seem to never shake, take DMX. And despite the poor sales with her critically acclaimed fourth album and her short stint in jail, Lil’ Kim seems focused on her craft now and ready to restore her queen status among newcomers like Remy Martin and Shawna. Yet, these two rookie rappers are handling things abit differently than the other females: they are learning to balance their sexual persona with tight lyrics to get people’s attention and their respect. Check out how Shawnna fooled people with her song “Gettin’ Some” which sounds like a sex anthem from the title but actually turns out to be the opposite and if people haven’t seen the freestyle battles of Remy Martin then their missing everything about Remy. Hopefully, these two ladies wont disappear and have their faces etched on the backs of milk cartons with the headline “Another Female Rapper Lost.”

But Hip-Hop wasn’t always missing a sharp female voice. Back in the 80’s and early 90’s, female rappers were in control; it was their period of influence. There were groups and solo acts of female emcees coming out hard and taking their own mics to battles. Female rappers were proving that they had a high place in Hip-Hop from the jump. And with or without the presence of sex, past female rappers were diverse lyricists. Take Mc Lyte, the madam of rap known for her metaphorical stories and lyrical intelligence but when needed Ms. Lyte could flaunt her need for a rough neck just as naturally. She didn’t sound like a guy was making her deep throat those lyrics to boost her sex appeal to sell records; it seemed as if she wanted to genuinely be roughed up. And on the other side Salt-N-Pepa, the first all-female rap crew to hit the charts in a big way, had their sexual hit “Push it” but then later extended their skills to promote sexual awareness and to give praise to mighty good men. They didn’t limit themselves or their music. Female rappers during that period weren’t spitting about fantasy issues all the time like jewelry, million-dollar houses, or designer clothes; instead, they used some of their time on the mic to tackle real issues that people-their fans- dealt with.

Maybe it’s the structure of society that hinders female rappers today from rising and from pushing themselves as artists. With all these faulty messages and distorted images tainting the fresh minds in the streets, some female rappers make the choice to project those images in their lyrics to sell records and to gain mass appeal. As a result some may gain nothing but a slice of notoriety and others get stuck in the one-sided persona they try to portray. Yet, there are a few defiant females emcees out there that are staying true to the essence of Hip-Hop like Jean Grae, Jane Doe, Lady Luck and Bahamadia keep it real with a slew of songs that are quality thinkers. And these ladies maybe called underground rappers or whatever, they are not being sold-out and used by companies or wasting their talents to cadge the minds of their listener’s. They are using their flow to take Hip-Hop to a higher level. Because even if you’re in the club or on the streets, everybody knows that the people on the higher levels really run stuff. So lets get lifted.

I think its the culture of women ocome first, and when a certain women shines someone always claims they have a ghost writer. But i completely feel you we need more women to step to the plate and flex skills and not ass. But most importantly we need to support them, great article

This article is beautifully said. Female rappers out now; in the hollywood limelight gets aboslutely no respect from me. First off, take shawnna, ma is a mother rappin about gettin some head(i dont care if theres a twist to it)point is mostly & almost anyone who listens to that record would be quik 2 assume foulness. Trina, all this chick do is rap about triple x ish, money diamond rangz havin; just flat out arrogance(with the basket of weave on top & gray contacts)and ma dont even need all that. Lil kim; one word:ridiculous. But her lyrical delviery is tough but on top disgustin 90% of the time. Also, this chick recieves the limelight for going to jail *sigh* another logic on why i do not watch bet (90% shows--pointless.) eve; ma is good(songs like love is blind proves she has angles)but ma stills fall short of the crucial things needed to place her amongst respectable female emcees. Anywho, i can't congratulate these females 100%(and i want to; but theres that stumblin block.) theres just no elemental with that kind of sound when it comes to few women. And thats a good thing, because that shows few women are careless to sound like that. I myself appreciate real depth , inspiring music that automatically wins respect. When it comes to music i look for that sound. Music thats leaks all that and more. Jean grae, ms. Dynamite, lauryn hill, apani and few others -- to the old skoo ladie lyricist who demanded respect. I cannot listen to sex smutty high maintenance talk constantly, it'll grow in you.

Don't forget about queen latifah. Oh, and missy elliot...i haven't listened to her in a while but all she has dumbed down to is sex seems like. But, look at the men too. We sell sex in lyrics left and right and it sells. I guess that's the double standard that some females attempt to break. Alot of rappers confuse me anyway.

Has anybody heard of jean grae?
Posted by Da ruckus
Well i like lil kim but she takes a lot of her lyrics off of biggie, but since she left junior mafia, she has gotten a lil better.as for missy elliot, she ok, but she mainly a club jammer, most of her songz revolve around the beat. The only real girl i can say i luv in the industry though is eve. She hard and she talk the real rather than just b all bout the sex, u cant touch her style and she comes through with the flow.

Jean grae?, isn't that the psychic chick on x-men?

Yo, thats right. Talk about the ladies, i think that female rappers nowadays think they got to talk like that to get they songs out, cuz when shawnna first came out she was not talkin bout gettin no head, she was talkin bout replacin beezys, but no one was listenin and remy ma, oh my god, yo her lil freestyle battles was off the chain. And it is true that a grip of male rappers mostly talk about sex, take too short for example. That n*gga is off the chain wit it.

That article hit the nail on the head. U missed alot of groundbreakin females emcees but u made the point clear. Shawnaa is aight since she been broke from that group the infamous syndicate, but remy is juss hype. She more or less a mixture of lady of rage, kim, and foxy. Ha album was decent but lyrically needed some help. She needs a coach to ride the beat sometimes. Lady luck lyrically smashed ha in fight klub but they gave to ha. Overall if women wouldn't take advantage of the power they have not only the game but the world, then they would have fighting chance cuz to me it seems more female r&b singers are gettin better deals and chances.
Posted by JCharades
Heard of one track from jean grae and it was tight but i heard dat sh*t on a whim meaning i wasnt tryin to hear it it was just on but she got skills. The thing is there isn't alot of female rappers out there already and the ones that is out there are going to jail, acting or they drop a album once every 5 years (foxy brown)

Yea i think females cant stay around in da rap game 2 long is becasue hip hop is like macho music, think about it, wen ur listnein 2 like missy elliot or lil kim they dont rap bout like carrying guns or sellin drugs, they rappin bout sex. They really dont git the respect they deserve because everyone wants 2 here rappin bout shootin people...all i gotta say is thank god 4 kanye and lupe fiasco 2 bring real hip hop back...

The article doesnt seem to mention jean grae, who as an emcee is superior on every level to anyone named there. It also doesnt mention that lauryn hill is coming back with the 3rd fugees album. Salam

Rap needs mlore mc lyte and queen latifah or more rappers like them...

You gotta understand the marker for this sh*t though. Gangster sh*t sells in the rap industry, whether its real or not. But people have a hard ass time believein in a girl that singin bout bein gangster. Yeah these female emcees may have talent, but talent and record sales are two different things. The market dont change unless the customers change. And since the market, the rap industry, relates record sales to success and talent, females is always gonna play the sideline. It aint disrespect, you feel me, sh*t is just the truth.

Where are the ladies of rap? i have not purchased a rap cd from the ladies in well over 5-6 years. The last cd i have is eve's. I come from that era where the ladies was rockin' the house and then some. I remember being up in the club hearing mc lyte, queen latifah, salt n' peppa, the real roxanne, finesse and sequence, lil' kim and so on. Those days are long gone (hopefully i am wrong). I love listening to our men rap, but we need to bring some women on out to do their thing. I am sure that the men would love to hear a woman get on the mic and rip sh*t up too. Is there any hope for our sistah emcees? i pray there is! come on ladies, do the damn thang!!!

Best female mc of this time is probably lauryn hill she would kill any of those girls and she doesnt have to talk about sex for any of it.

The female rapper is dead they try to act too tough like the men they gotta be like latifah and lyte...just do their thing

You said the truth!! ms. Nesbitt hit the nail right on the head. But as a female i am not discouraged because its not our fault. Society depicts what sells. And sex sells. As long as you look good you make it for a while.we until someone better looking comes along. No one cares about the lyrics. The male emcees use females to boost record sales by selling the sex appeal. If the serious female emcees of the 80s return, will they be respected? more importantly will their records sell??

What it do? first and foremost i would like to thank the writer of this editorial.secondly i would like to say as a young female trying to get in the game that not only is this a male dominating industry, but the females in the game never try to help each other or others get in.they feel threatened by a new chick.as a true fan of hip hop, i support these ladies not because of their lyrical skill, but because it's only like 5 of them!i also feel that just as consumers are tired of female rappers talk about fantasy issues, females are tired of the ass songs.these artist talk about stuff ladies used to dream of and nothing can boost awomens self esteem like success.i love to see a chick that can represent rags to rickes.maybe it's not so negetive, but can inspire us women to stop looking for a man with a tight car and get our own so we can stunt too! much love and respect.pss...look out for me and my all female crew.maybe one day y'all a see us on stage with lil kim, fox, eve and my dog, lady of rage, im a new female artist with a story to tell.ya gotta feel me.west coast in full blast!
Posted by Dynamicc
Look out for cali girlz 2007!we are cummin str8 atcha!just know there is some of us tryin to break the stereotype thats been paved for us in the game.i think the next editorial you write should be about the exploitation that goes on with female rappers ,who only produce that image so they can get a record deal.guys always portray hardcore thugs when in acuality they are respectful citizens of society.just think,if theywere that way, they would do more time in jail, then splashin in rain puddles, holerin take that!!!!

I disagree on female rap being dead. I think it's just taken a dip period. When you got rappers like rah digga and missy still out there doing it big i would hardly say it's dead. However, i wish rah digga would hurry up and drop another album. However, i don't understand why it's okay for nearly all male rappers to rap about crack, gats, money, bling fast women, robbing banks and fast cars e.t.c (which is a lot more damaging to our youth culture), but it's not okay for female rappers to rap about sex. If they wanna rap about sex then let them!! the problem is too many of them are doing it and truth of the matter is, that we still live in a society where women are still being judged and evaluated by their body parts so sex will always be a major factor in female rap. The blame lies not with them but with the world we live in today. Yeah sure there's artists like lauren hil who have skill's and are respected in the game for their wisdom & committed advocacy for change of our social state but i don't she could put out a whole 'rap' album with no sexual content and still sell well. If she did, she'll be branded an 'angry 'feminist' or seen as a dyke and that in 'hip hop' is not 'cool' but being 'sluty' is. Missy has survived only this long because she's charismatic with a good sense and humour, spends sh*t loads on her video's and is a great producer. I suppose you can say she is talented but then most of them are. Dabat had to finally succumb to sex talk and dressing sexy, when it became evident t
Posted by Chaz
Well said!! da brat is one of my favourites but like her third album 'unrestricted' she became unrestricted in her image and focus. So when sexy dabrat came, people didn't quite know how to take her which is a shame cause it's a great album lil' kim & foxy get props in my opinion, cause without them, i don't think the cateogery 'female rappers' would even exist, no matter what state it's in at the moment. It just wouldn't be there for us to talk about. I agree on lil' kim not being able to quite find the form from her first album 'hardcore' but 'naked truth' is still a good album. Yeah eve gave us 'love is blind' but name a female rapper that hasn't got all deep and personal at some point. They all have. On foxy though, i completely disagree. 'broken silence' has to be best album ever by any female rapper. To me that's the standard. Yeah 'ill na na' was good but 'broken silence' set new heights for female rappers in my opinion. It's just so thuruh and personal . The way she bled her heart on 'every track is unmatched by any female rapper. Plus her delivery is almost always perfect. And on the 'fever' album she was starting to steer away from sex, rapping about some really deep interesting stuff. Shame def jam and diddy screwed her over by not releasing it. She has got to be one of the most underrated rappers of all time and most criminally slept on. Along with rah digga. 'black roses' will hopefully be a hit with all the sh*t she's gone through recently. She alone could take female rap to anothe

Female rappers on the verge of destruction? hmmm..lemme think about that one sec....i don't want to switch subjects..but it seems to me that rap in general is heading for the pearly gates if you know what i mean. Unless the words that are spewing out of some of these cats mouths are positive messages not negative..f a b@$%^ f this f that..know what i'm saying? i think this discussion is more about ego than anything. That's all i have to say. Peace

This article was totally correct on the point of view. Where are the positive female rappers, better yet where are the females rappers period? i agree with you on everything because it does seem that these female rappers are oozing more sex appeal than talent. But although lil' kim has had her rough moments along with foxy, she still did a pretty good job with paving the way for other female rappers and future ones. Because just think about it: doesn't remy ma kind of remind you of the early kim?

There are plenty of dope female emcees out there you just have to pull your head out of the mainstreams ass to see them... Someone up there mentioned jean grae who i personally give mad credit for being one of the best, but there are others like medusa and bahamadia that most people have never heard of. Foxy brown, lil kim and the rest of these so called "emcees" couldn't write a rhyme if their lives depended on it. They have ghost writers and rely on shaking their asses to get air time. The reason you dont see real female emcees in the mainstream is because they are unwilling to play into the "bling-bling, shake my ass" marketing that the major record labels push for women, and without major label backing youve got a snowballs chance in hell of getting on the air. F*ck mainstream radio! they dont give anyone with actual talent any airplay, and if they do their listening base is too retarded to know good music when they hear it.

For me these new sexed up female rappers can't compete with people like mc lyte, lauryn hill, bahamdia, lady of rage. Unfortunatley lyrical skill is doesn't make millions in sales and thats all anyone seems to care about these days is how many platnium plaques you got. Thats why ladies like bahamadia couldn't break the mainstream cuz she didn't sell and rhyme about sex.

Real talk female emcees who actually can go hard and not exploit their bodies are usually left in the dark, and no one is trying to shine on them cause they are not shaking their asses. I'm a ghost writer, a female emcee, a lyricist, vocalist, a realist but im unnoticed. I get mad props from people that i come by and who come by me but because i can go hard like a n*gga, tell it like a n*gga and put a female twist to it without flaunting my body, i go unnoticed. I mean people want to complain bout the females falling off and that there is rarely one chick out of a crew dat is lyrical but the truth is that people dont see females unless they are labeled as sex symbols. "females spit bout men, sex, money" dats cute, but what do n*gga rhyme bout? i F*cked dis Bia'ch, and i get my money hustlin, and ya girl give good dome, what the hell kidd everything is everything like lauryn hill said kidd i mean there is no difference. I can sit here now and tell you how to hustle, how to get money, life is nothing but a damn cycle on the real and its how you approach it. I'm not coming out on stage with my titty popping out, or with no damn weave, sh*t it takes too much work, that half the reason females are overlooked, n*ggas are simple for the most part but shiit females myself included to a certain degree, are too damn complicated. But nuff said but if you want a lyricisty a real female emcee gotta go underground....

As a female myself i love to hear female rappers. I think some of them do get off track about what the rap game is all about. Alot of them r to worried bout diamonds, clothes, shoes, and hair, they just putting out whack sh*t to try and pay they rent. But the same goes for the males that be rapping they not as focused like they need to be either. I think the males r intimidated by female rappers, they not trying to take over the rap game, they just trying to be heard just like the males trying to be heard. Why always rag on us females? when we talk bout sex we r hoes , when we talk bout money and sh*t we greedy gold diggers. When males talk bout the same sh*t they just keeping it real. What the hell is up with that?

Has anyone heard of ms. Kris? she is a well rounded female mc. She speaks on a variety of subjects, which she feels is great. But, when i talked to her about which songs she is putting on her album, she said she got a lot of negative feedback about being, "versatile". She said the people want her to stick to one, no more than two images, and , "street", seemed to be the leader of the pack. She told me she decided to put street and sexuality on her up coming album, "ms. Kris, remixed!" check her out at: ./mskrisremixed tell me what you think. Should she sell out to the people who are helping her project financially (wants her to be "one"), or should she do it independently and put an array of topics on her album. Thanks for your response

Ladies & gents - being a woman in the entertainment industry and apart of the murda mamis which is the largest collective of women in entertainment .murdamamis and is a sisterhood that includes rah digga, shawnna and remy ma. I must say that female rap is not dead- hip hop is dead. All of the women in my camp work very hard and at the end of the day things dont always go as planned - male rappers get more promo dollars and support from the label than woman and that says a lot about us as women because we dont support each other. There are more women on the earth than men no need to sit here and complain about why this or that is if you know a hot female lyricist support the sista purchase her cd - go to her shows.. You the fans control the industry dont let them control you ladies stand up and support women in hip-hop. Murda mamis all day!

I dont think the females get the chance to run anything because the industry is to busy tryna find sex out of everything and we you find a female that can spit. They want them to change their image and promote sex more than their music, and most un strong minded woman fall in to that foe because the thank that sex sells but i thank knowledge is what is much needed in this industry.... Back in the day when queen latifah, monie love, miss melondy did they did for the respect .....most girls do it for the fame the did for their respect.... Hip hops not dead she's just asleep

I think there are some truths to the article but the game is already messed up. Now that i think about it remy ma is being sponcered off fat joe and brat and jd doin' their thing...rah diggah is held up by busta rhymes, and lil kim is supporterd by unfamilure mofo's in the junior mafia click and ish, but i'm like hell if mofo's would stop being narrow minded and actually listen to the lyrics without being high then the ish will have some effect. The rap game has female emcees wearing all kinds of kinky outfit's cuzz sex does sell and if ur a female then they try their best to exploit u. Then the flip that and tell u it helps u sell albums. I figure if females would start working together like these dudes in the game then the ish would be even, but too many of them are sittin up thinkin like chicks in the game but in reality u have to think like a diick in the game and go on ahead and make the records and money and put all that prissy, i'm to cute, and she aint better than me ish to the side.

It's extremely hard being a female rapper & 10 times harder to get on & stay on. Labels don't seem to believe that we can be successful & are afraid to lose money signing us. Even underground people don't respect us & really want our phone numbers & not our cds. I've even been told i was too pretty to rap & now i have to prove everyone wrong even if i have to do it without a major. Things will change soon...as long as i'm still around! maria j .thepostergirl ./thepostergirldotcom

I can definately feel all points in the article on female rappers. What's going on? i tell you what's going on: you have female rappers out there that are making it hard to get on a level where the males are. Most chicks only have sex, drugs, and violence to offer, dropping name brands and designers and cars the whole track, 3-4 minutes of nothing. This industry is not a double standard. Females cannot use the same verbage and come off like the guys and get the same reception. Most chicks are carbon copies of eachother, and are afraid to try to be themselves and try to make it big setting a new bar. I'm a female rap artist, speaking from inside the lion's den! i've been approached by labels, both major and indie, but to be blunt, i'd rather stay broke than become a stiletto and booty shorts wearin broad that seems to have sex on the brain in all of my tracks! its a war keeping true to morals and business values when you have all these wastes of production money flooding the industry. On top of that, since got hot, broads have decided to start a "rap career" to get hot on . Wtf? what happened to real music? what happened to exhibiting real personas, with lyrical substance to match? when did we as female rappers decide to take the clothes off and rap about how good our ver-jay-jay is and how well we give brain? when was a "hot female rapper" measured with how many "hard" dudes she's got standing behind her? for me, its that much harder because i'm not a part of an "all-gangsta" clique/label, and

I am a female lyricist from sacramento, ca. All of us females in the hip-hop industry whether commercial or underground don't suck. There are double standards out here. The article said all we talk about is sex, materialism and men. Well, the guys talk about sex, materialism and women. Guys do it, girls do it..why..because we are all human beings who are not perfect..we all have flaws..we face temptations..some of us mostly controlled by our flesh and not the holy spirit...i am not only an artist but a business woman..being the ceo of my own label, shindig ent. !! i have an independent album i put out with my own gov't earned money titled "blow ur mind" ...check it out at cdbaby/cd/shanshan or i-tunes !!! please don't judge all of us female rappers just by listening to only a few !!!

Oops..i meant check out my album at cdbaby/cd/shanshan !!! and let me get back to the issue of double standards in hip-hop.. A good question i propose... Why can't females talk about some of the same things that guys do?...why is it a problem when a female expresses her opinions on a certain subject? we all go through some of the same type of problems right ? females talk about sex because sex feels good to females !! females talk about materialism because that's what they have a love for !! females talk about men because...men talk about women.. !!! you see my point !!

What about mc lyte, queen latifah, and jean grae? i see the other female rappers but these are so me of the ones that really hold it down for the ladies.

One point i forgot to bring up that no one touched on. Let's talk about why females are pressured into looking or sounding a certain way. Hip-hop is a male dominated industry !!! hmmm.... Half the time the guys are putting it out there like "this is what's sexy so put this on or say this and say it this way !!" hmmm.... No one ever thought about that !!! men put the money up for these females to do their thing and if they don't have righteous males guiding their careers righteously then a bunch of nonsense you are going to get. Women need to take more control of their own careers in hip-hop !! take eve for example...first she came out as this bald blond headed chic ...now...she's all weaved up !!! hmmm...something to think about huh !!! when lil kim first dropped...she looked like your average around the way chic...now she's full of saran wrap and weave...hmmm !! and in some ways...havin more money than you ever had before changes things !!!

The problem was touched on by some one, everybody wants to live this fantasy life style.thats whats cool :jewels, cars, sex, being flashy. . So thats what they put out - thats whats what is continue till real mc's like jean grae(who is the illest female i ever heard) get air play-but she's not selling her body or false dreams and i really respect that - i hope that she can fight the temptation of the main stream(darn mainstreamers!)

Yo...dopest article i've read all year!!! i connect with this so much because i am a female emcee. I didn't want to wear the title for a long time because of how women/female rappers are depicted in hip hop. But with wearing the spoken word title and performing all the time, people could tell my stuff was laced with hip hop culture. They always asked, "you rap?" or they'd say "it sounds like that poem could go to a beat." i have just now in the last few months said forget it and decided to go with my heart. No i don't grab the tip i don't have and take my voice five octaves down. No i don't claim i tuck guns and am overly hood cause i grew up in the projects in poverty. No i don't talk about sex in the dirtiest of ways in my rhymes nor do i curse in my lyrics (not that i don't curse...i just feel there's more words in my vocabulary that i can use to express myself). No i don't reveal my body. I am a lyricist and i am not a battle rapper because clearly there isn't even enough of us out here for us to be beefing. I am all for females coming back and standing side by side with the men. Not in the way back. I am going to do everything in my power to pick us up ya'll. Don't forget me! younique semyhr......that's rhymes backwards. This is what i do! love, peace, and hip hop!!!

Finally people who think like me.... I am a starving female artist.. When it comes 2 music im a fair critic i give props when they r do and i will also point out what i don't like.... But now a days it seems as if my opinion doesn't matter because all the industry is looking 4 is a bunch of trina clones.... Big asses nasty bedroom talk and sex appeal lots of sex appeal... That's not me. I am versitile i write about any and everything that comes 2 me... Yes i am guilty of the nasty bedroom talk but every song i record is not about that... Most woman don't care what they spit as long as they get that check. The death of the female rappers isn't anyones fault but our own... We wanted the glamorous life and didn't care any more about the true meaning of hiphop music
