TIMBALAND & MISSY Remake "WE ARE THE WORLD" to raise money for HIV/AIDS in Africa

Timbaland is looking to lend a helping hand to Africa's HIV/AIDS programs. He will revisiting the USA For Africa charity project "We Are the World." The hip-hop artist and producer confirmed the plans Monday night at the second annual YouthAIDS Gala in New York.
Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott will co-write the new version, which will be titled "The World Is Ours." In keeping with the tradition of the first project, a cast of today's popular artists is being recruited for the project.
Project "The World Is Ours" is set for spring 2004 and is being made with the blessing of Quincy Jones, who produced the original.
Beat Club Records will release the single, which will be distributed by Interscope. Proceeds will benefit YouthAIDS (http://www.youthaids.org) and Jones' Listen Up Foundation (http://www.qjluf.org/).
"The World Is Ours" project will also produce a video to premiere on VH1, the official media partner for the project, and MTV. A VH1 special about the recording of the song is also planned and an accompanying DVD will be produced by QD3, Jones' son.
