Main Flow Drops 'Hip-Hopulation' Ft. Raekwon, Black Thought, Talib Kweli
Friday, July 16, 2004 By: brooklyniteOne
In 1997 as a member of MOOD (which also included fellow Cincinnati residents DJ Hi-Tek & Donte), Main Flow revived Hiphop with his intellectual and smooth rhyme style.
Perhaps one of the most skilled and ambitious MC's to arrive on the Hiphop scene, with HipHopulation, Main Flow flaunts his talents strictly in a solo-capacity; exemplified by the conspiracy theory caper "The Wire" and the relationship qanundrum that is "She Likes Me" as two friends share (and share alike) contrasting views on the same female. Yet, Main Flow also strikes up conversations with a few of his Natti'/Mood brethren, as Hi-Tek kicks a freestyle (Hi-Tek Freestyle), Donte swings thru with The Roots Black Thought on the DJ Vin Roc produced "Classic" and Talib Kweli joins Flow for "Hiphop Worth Dying For" as both emcees smugly question some of the so-called purveyors and purists of the artform and also ask them "Is Hiphop worth dying for/are you sure" ?
Hip-Hopulation Drops on 8-24-04.
