Cash Money Records co-CEOs Ronald "Slim" Williams & Bryan "Baby" Williams , along with veteran music industry executive Merlin Bobb and high powered business manager Vernon Brown join forces to create the premier record label Roun'Table Entertainment. Roun'Table will be a full-service music label. Roun'Table is set to release the gold-selling Lil' Mo in the winter 2004.
As a joint venture with Cash Money Records, Roun'Table Entertainment will deliver more than just rap music, the labels primary focus will be nurturing and promoting R&B and Urban/Pop artists.
"We're all entrepreneurs so we believe in doing, not talking," offers the steadfast Vernon Brown, who holds the post of Business Manager for the enterprise. His relationship with Ronald "Slim" Williams and Merlin Bobb dates back more than half a dozen years when the three began developing a long-term friendship.
"We've respected and known each other for quite a few years, so it was only a matter of time that we would be working together in this capacity," says Ronald Williams, who along with his brother Bryan Williams serve as Co-Chairman of Roun'Table Entertainment. The brothers will effortlessly balance their responsibilities at Cash Money with Roun'Table. "It's easy for me," says Ronald, "Merlin has been doing this for 18 years and he knows best what he wants and we support his feelings to the fullest. He has already signed the best; it's time to keep it going."
As CEO of Roun'Table Entertainment, Merlin Bobb takes his experience and history of signing legendary artists like Missy Elliott , Tweet and Fabulous into this new endeavor. "Most recently we have signed Lil' Mo as an artist who is being produced by Brian Cox and an 18 year-old male vocalist named KC who recently guest appeared on Lloyd Banks' album Hunger For More," Merlin explains. Merlin's expert authority in A&R makes him perfect for this position. "We are looking to give this industry a strong upper cut," declares Merlin, "We want to sign and develop real talent in the Urban/Pop world and make albums that become classics."
