Jay-Z Launches Cognac With Grey Goose

Jay-Z is producing his own brand of cognac, which will go head to head with Damon's Armandale vodka.

A source revealed to America's New York Post newspaper: "Jay is about to launch his own line of cognac with Grey Goose. This seems innocuous, but it is his first real venture without Damon Dash . He does not want Damon to be a part of it."

Earlier this year, Jay cut ties with Damon's Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear clothing line.

The star is reportedly about to become president of Def Jam records, which will effectively make him Damon's boss - a move sources claim will put a strain on the pair's relationship.

An insider said: "This is going to be an issue. Damon and Jay were always equal partner. Now, Jay has the final say."

However, Damon's spokesperson insists Jay will not be the rapper's boss and says pair are still friends.

She said: "Def Jam and Roc have a 50/50 joint venture. No one will be anyone's boss. "They started a business together and they hope each other's deals go really well. There is no animosity."
