Cam'ron Leaves Def Jam/ Roc-A-Fella Records

Cam'ron has announced his departure from Roc-A-Fella Records
The platinum-selling rapper revealed that “L.A.” Reid, current CEO of Island Def Jam, granted Cam’ron a release from his contract, under which he had owed three more albums to the label. Cam'ron's Purple Haze disc moved a solid 123,000 units to debut at #20. Camron was a Roc-A-Fella elite, being amoung artists like Jay-Z, DJ Clue and Kanye West to go platinum. His album "Come How With Me" was certified platinum.
The news was made public shortly after the appointment of Jay-Z to president of Def Jam Records.
According to reports, Cam’ron was unhappy with the handling of his latest release “Purple Haze” and did not feel comfortable reporting to Jay-Z.
