Ja Rule Fined For Assault In Toronto

 Ja Rule has pleaded guilty to assault after delivering "one punch to the eye" of a nightclub owner. Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, was fined $1,200 by a Canadian court.
The 29 year old rapper had been facing a more serious count of actual bodily harm but he pleaded not guilty to that charge. The incident occurred last June during the making of a film in Toronto.
His lawyer Steven Skurka said: "He felt sorry for what he had done. The judge found the conduct of the patrons at the club unacceptable and called it disgraceful. "They had been taunting him earlier before the assault took place. It was one punch to the eye of the victim who he believed was insulting him."
