Notorious BIG Civil Trial Underway
Wednesday, June 22, 2005 By: brooklyniteOne
The new trial headed by the widow and mother of Christopher Wallace also known as Notorious BIG is expected to last as long a month and will be divided into three parts.
This case is brought forth months after the LA police department closed the investigation into the 1997 murder of Notorious BIG citing lack of evidence to proceed. The trial is in Los Angeles and began with Jury selection and opening statements.
Main issues and claims to be argued in this civil case are relating to Off-duty officers working for Death Row Records as security guards associated with gang members.
It will be determined in the court whether David Mack arranged the murder of Notorious BIG on behalf of Suge Knight, the head of Death Row Records.
Also the issue of whether the Los Angeles Police Department is responsible for the death of Notorious BIG.
If the Jury decides that David Mack was indeed involved in the killing then they must also decide if the Los Angeles police department can be held responsible of the off-duty officer’s actions.
