LL Cool J Lands Multi-picture Film Deal

Lions Gate recently announced that it signed Hip-Hop star LL Cool J to a multiyear and multiproduction movie deal.

The deal also reportedly includes LL Cool J's manager Jason Barrett of Alchemy Entertainment and was announced by by Michael Paseornek, president of production at Lions Gate Films.

LL Cool J will now have more involvement in the films and the first movie to be produced will be a urban version of the hit movie "Fatal Attraction." LL Cool J will play the role of the man who has an affair gets into serious trouble with the woman he has an affair with.

It involves LL Cool J, aka James Todd Smith, taking on a much more involved role then he has with his other films. The multihypenate will produce each of the films with Barrett, and Paseornek and John Sacchi, senior vp production, will oversee on behalf of Lions Gate. The first project to be developed is an urban version of the '80s thriller "Fatal Attraction." LL Cool J will play an everyman who gets into serious trouble when he engages in an extramarital affair.
