Kanye & Lupe Fiasco Perform at Londons Legendary Abbey Road Studio
Monday, September 26, 2005 By: Michael Ivey
This past Thursday FNF/Atlantic emcee Lupe Fiasco joined Kanye West for a historic performance at London’s Abbey Road Studios. It was the first ever hip hop show at the venue which showcased such legendary acts as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The event, televised by BBC and broadcast live on Radio 1 by Zane Lowe, was witnessed by about 200 fans. Lupe joined West on stage for “Touch the Sky”, from West’s Late Registration album. “All I could think of was how extreme it was to be in this room that had held incredible musicians over the years. Off the scale ...!”, said Lupe. The Muslim lover of skateboards and vintage sneakers spent the rest of the day promoting his new song “Kick Push” on stations 1Xtra and Choice. Lupe’s tentatively titled “Food & Liquor” has no official release date.
The telecast will air in December as apart of Channel 4’s Christmas series. Footage of the event can be viewed here
