Recovered Tupac Script Moves to Big Screen
Tuesday, September 27, 2005 By: Michael Ivey
The only surviving film script written by entertainment icon Tupac Shakur will become a major motion picture. According to TheHollywoodreporter.com Tupac’s mother Afeni recovered and will co-produce “Live 2 Tell” with Insomnia Media Group and “Hustle and Flow” associate producer Preston Holmes.
Written in 1995 the story was supposed to feature it’s late author as a young man from the projects who becomes a drug lord, then changes his life. William J. McDonald of HBO’s “Rome” will executive produce the film.
Insomnia Media Group's resume includes involvement in “Rome”, A&E’s “Inked”, VH1’s “Driven” series, and Jose Canseco’s best selling steroid expose “Juiced”. “Live 2 Tell” marks Tupac’s sixth major film contribution. Past experience includes starring roles in “Juice”, “Poetic Justice”, “Above the Rim”, “Grid Locked”, and “Gang Related”. The late emcee is also the subject of both “Biggie & Tupac” and “Tupac Resurrection. “Live 2 Tell” is slated to begin production this March.
