The Inc. Seeks Executive Funding for Defense
Thursday, October 13, 2005 By: Michael Ivey
A Federal Bureau of Prisons wire tape from late April shows that Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff will seek defense funding from Diddy and Jay-Z for The Inc.’s upcoming trail.
The label has been under investigation the last few years, and with the trial looming McGriff reportedly feels “both of them is situated really, really well…wouldn’t be nothing but peanuts to them.” He spoke to Chris Gotti about 50 Cent as well, according to the FBP, referring to him as a ““muthaf**kin house ni**a” who “set us back 150 years.” Of course McGriff dislikes 50 for supposedly “dry snitching” on a song called “Ghetto Quran” in the late nineties. McGriff inquired about Irv Gotti’s supposed talks with former Def Jam President and current Warner Music exec. Lyor Cohen.
Chris Gotti implied that Universal is holding up the possible move by “taking their time because they know what they doing. They know they crippling a n**ger. They got Ashanti out with an album, Ja out with an album, they ain’t doing nothing for their next singles.”
Both CEO Irv Gotti and his brother Chris plead not guilty to money laundering charges in January, but the stakes are higher for McGriff who reportedly faces the death penalty on racketeering, narcotics, and murder charges. Opening statements begin October 24th.
