Jay-Z & Ice-T Sued Over '99 Problems'
Wednesday, November 16, 2005 By: Michael Ivey
Former 2 Live Crew member Marquis Ross has sued hip hop mogul Jay-Z and Ice-T, claiming he wrote music and a chorus similar to Jay’s copywritten “99 Problems” single, in the nineteen nineties.
Ross says he did so as apart of a collaboration on Ice-T’s 1993 “Home Invasion” album, but was omitted from the copyright by the hip hop pioneer. Ross claims he performed parts of the song before Ice-T asked him to appear on the album, and hadn’t been paid royalties until this year, when Ice-T allegedly gave Ross a partial payment of $10,000. He now wants back royalties and punitive damages, no word on how much.
Neither Ice-T nor Jay-Z has released a statement regarding the case.

I still don't know why he's suing jay-z; the article didn't say!!?!! if ice-t didn't pay him than sue ice-t. And if jay simply used the words "99problems" as a hook, than every rapper could be sued for similar situations every time they rap! sounds like someone is broke & trying to get paid!
