Pimp C Will Soon Be Free
Monday, December 5, 2005 By: Michael Ivey
UGK’s Bun B reportedly told WHXT Hot 103.9 radio host Charlamagne Tha God that his friend and rhyme partner Pimp C will be granted parole in the next sixty days recently. The Texas rapper/producer is currently doing an eight year bid for parole violations regarding an aggravated assault charge.
Pimp C went in January 28, 2001 and was scheduled to be eligible for parole late this year. The “Free Pimp C” t-shirt campaign has been in full swing for the last few years, but Bun B hopes fans will be able to “burn the Free Pimp C. shirts real soon and throwing those caps away.” Pimp C has recorded six UGK albums for Jive Records since 1988 and released his solo LP, “The Sweet James Jones Stories”, in March 2005. He’s know on a national scale for his appearance on Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin” single in 1999. If he’s released this year Pimp C will stay under state supervision until 2009
