Kanye Honored by USA Today

Kanye West’s critical/commercial gem “Late Registration” was recently named USA Today’s 2005 album of the year. The Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam release beat out West’s G.O.O.D. Music artist John Legend’s debut “Get Lifted” and “Caesars” by Paper Tigers.

“Late Registration” was awarded a perfect rating by XXL Magazine, as was Common’s “BE” album, executive produced by West. In an interview with MTV’s Sway West said magazines would lose credibility if they didn’t rate “Late Registration” a classic.

He also made headlines last summer for anti Bush statements made during a live NBC fundraiser for Hurricane Katrina victims.

West is a genius, i wonder how he'd do in a heated battle with a so-called gangsta rapper? not that i don't think he'd retire anyone of these buffoons, but i'd just like to hear what the thrashing would sound like; as he proved himself on yet another level of the hip-hop game, with flying colours no doubt! i think it would be similar to when common sense slapped ice cube around with his verbal intel.

I also agree that knaye cheddar is pure genius. The reason i say that and im not just flapping my lips is because the depth in his music and fearlessness when it comes to pushing hip hop to think outside the typical gangsta rapper box. Instead of being your stereotypical gangsta rapper that america has grown accustomed to kanye has shown that his music contains far more substance, and mainstream and hip hop critics have realized that and are no longer holding gangsta rappers to a lowered level of expectation of musical expression. His music is a refreshing and soul stirring he is openly struggling with his music and becoming a better artist and hip hop is benefiting immensely from these efforts. Kanye cheddar keep moving and rising (everyday he's making black history!!!)
