I love my brother saigon, and i understand not just letting someone just take something from you. But i just read an article wherein saigon said that materialism doesn't rule him, or something to that effect, which i believe when i listen to the topics he rhymes about. So why does he feel the need to wear an $18,000 chain in the hood, or anywhere, when he knows that such jewels are generally worn by those of us who have been taught for so long that we're worthless that they believe it. They wear them because they feel that they themselves are nothing, but if they add a necklace made of platinum, then suddenly they become platinum. And then they exalt themselves above their brethren, whom they still deem as nothing, who don't have such shiny necklaces. I realize that i'm a life worth far more than all the jewels in the world. That said, i think you can all guess how i would choose if faced with a life-or-chain situation. Coming where he's coming from, i think saigon wants to change, but is torn between growing up, versus holding on to some things from his past that, in some undeveloped minds, classifies his as venerable.
