50 Cent and Samuel L. Jackson Co-Star In New Movie
Tuesday, February 14, 2006 By: Michael Ivey
Despite exchanging disparaging remarks last year, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and actor Samuel Jackson will work together in 'Home of the Brave', a war film set in Iraq. 50 Cent will reportedly play a soldier struggling to readjust to post war life. Jackson plays a physician who also desires to live normally again. Irvine Winkler will direct a cast that includes Jessica Biel (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Eva Mendes (Hitch) and Christina Ricci (Monster).
Home of the Brave will reportedly cost $12 million and is scheduled to begin production next month. Last year Samuel Jackson turned down a role in 50’s semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Trying, saying "I like listening to 50 Cent and I can groove to his music but I don't want to groove to him on screen, just yet." Jackson also questioned celebrated director Jim Sheridan’s motivation for wanting to work with the novice actor. 50 Cent shot back, bringing up Jackson’s past drug habit. "I don't even see where Samuel fits into my life story anyway, unless he plays one of the crack heads," he said. "So I come from being a rapper, and he comes from being a crack head."
