Kanye West Concert Guards Shot in England
Wednesday, March 1, 2006 By: brooklyniteOne
Two security guards were shot Tuesday at Grammy winning emcee Kanye West’s final "Touch the Sky" Tour performance in London after a ticket dispute with a man. Shots rang out around 10pm at the front entrance of the NEC Arena in Birmingham during following an argument between guards and a man who was refused entry, according to West Midlands police. The incident left one guard in serious condition, the other was treated and released. Two suspects, male and female, are in custody.
"At this early stage, the motive for the shooting remains unclear but there appears to have been some sort of dispute about gaining entry to the concert," said Detective Inspector Ian Grant.
Kanye West is scheduled to next perform in Milan Thursday. Neither he nor Roc-A-Fella Records/Def Jam Recordings have released a statement about the incident. West walked away from this year’s Grammy awards with Best Rap Solo Performance ("Gold Digger"), Best Rap Album (Late Registration) and Best Rap Song ("Diamonds from Sierra Leone").

Sounds like some pretty foolish sh*t. No concert is worth a violent felony case.
