G-Unit’s head man, 50 Cent, has reportedly agreed to star in the Universal Pictures film "Live Bet," centered around illegal drag racing. The film will be directed by brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides and produced by Mary Parent and Scott Stuber.
50 and Violator Management/Records CEO Chris Lighty will also produce through the rapper’s G-Unit Films imprint. "Live Bet" is reportedly a character driven film based on real life Manhattan clubs that bet on street races. Vlas Parlapanides is credited with writing "Across the Sea" and "Everything for a Reason," which was produced by Charley Parlapanides.
50 made his acting debut last fall in the semi-autobiographical film "Get Rich or Die Tryin." He is also due to appear alongside Samuel L. Jackson in Irwin Winkler's "Home of the Brave." 50’s next starring role will reportedly come via "The Dance." The multi-platinum recording artist recently joined forces with fellow Universal Music employee Jay-Z to work on Roc-A-Fella Records rapper Freeway’s sophomore album.
