Common & Kanye Chosen to Co-Chair Global Mixx DJ Retreat

 This year’s Global Mixx DJ Retreat will be held in Chicago, so organizers thought it proper to recruit the home team to chair the event. The self styled "Lui Vuitton Don," Kanye West, and G.O.O.D. Music mate Common are slated to co-chair the four day (Aug. 10-13) celebration of urban DJ music, culture, and lifestyle at Chicago’s House of Blues Hotel.
Music related events and seminars featuring the most acclaimed U.S. DJ cliques will be held at the hotel and other venues in the city. West is also prepping the release of his Pastelle clothing line this Spring. The Roc-A-Fella Records emcee/producer says ‘Graduation,’ the follow up to his critical and commercial hit ‘Late Registration,’ is in the works as well. "…I'm not sure when I'm dropping it," said West. "I'm working on it very diligently right now and it's very incredible and very scary to anyone that's not involved with it."
West is scheduled to appear on Clinton Sparks’ ‘SmashTime Radio’ Memorial Day weekend celebration. Common is reportedly readying his seventh LP, tentatively titled ‘Finding Forever,’ which will feature production by West. The veteran emcee has also expressed a desire to work with lauded producer Dr. Dre.
