Posted by bigghass
And how come they cant put a date on cuban linx 2? cant they just make a fake date and keep pushing it back that way like everyone else does?
Posted by The Shogun
Hopefully, they will all deliver the goods. Meth's got some makin' up to do. He needs to bring some serious heat. I got faith in killa, and hopefully deck can deliver a decent album. From what i gather thus far, ghost won't appear on rae's joint, so for me, that kinda' kills the whole cuban ii approach. Also, dissapointed to see that gza's not on the 2006 agenda. As for good news - u-god's name wasn't even mentioned.

Def jam is seriously gonna push meth back i can feel it

I bet meth will get pushed back cause july 25th is comin up soon. Im glad that rza and deck are droppin. Not that disappointed in gza not gettin one in but he dropped last year so 2007 will be gza. And stop hatin on ugod, people are always hatin on him.

Solo joints are nice... But where the hell is "wu tang forever vol. 2"? :-) i hope on 2007 the gods come back! i hope rza will drop "the cure", me waiting so long...no more bobby...

The reason (i think) there's no release date for ob4cl 2 is because rae is either signed or in talks of signing w/ aftermath. And as we all know, if you signed on aftermath there aint' no telling how long it'll take for your album to drop or if it's even gonna be dropped at all. What happened to rakim? eve? busta waited 2 years! hopefully it won't be shelfvilles for rae, as i know every true wu fan wants to take it back to '96 when it dropped on aug 1st. Maybe a delay isn't so bad...cause ghost and come up on more tracks. As far as the gza, i read "maxamillion" was rae's number one man this time around. Whatever, even if all the albums suck, rock the bells is still gon be off the hook!

Hey kalliope, listen to some wu tang closely, to people like masta killah, rza and gza, it will blow your mind. All i have to say is you are on that level now, so check it out a matter of fact listen to all of gza and rza and ignore the tracks! protons, electrons alwayz cause explosions, and that is a true reaction in physics. Five percenters are always on point with physics and math and logical lessons of life and health! you know i wont tell you anything wrong. "the year 2002-the battle's still wit tha wu-600 devils just died from the bubonic flu-or the ebola virus under the reign of king cyrus-you can see the weakness of a man right through his iris" rza.

^^^real talk, but then again, it's all about preference. Personally, i love these cats.

Werd...i feel you big o...i lose the message because how its presented with them. Only wu members that i can stand to listen to are meth and ghost. Stopped listening to gza waaayyyy back in the g with liquid swords so i "know" i aint giving him a fair shake...lol. Plus back when i wasnt on the boards rza had me curious with how he did his music and he has some classics. But i dont know if he got fame too quick but he just went where i wouldnt go mentally yanno. Bobby digital???? wtf, wit a mask and lame azz tracks. If wu is getting numbers they gotta be gettin em in china. I mean...im wayyyy outta range i dont see no wu flags flying down here at all. Like nadda, zelch. Imma do some more research but dayem, sometimes my ears cant stand the tracks. If any producer reads this and doesnt understand whut im saying...then your shyt must be poorly chopped and arranged too....trash for short.

No doubt, rza was definitely showing his eccentric side with the bobby digital projects, but for my taste, he’s still my favorite hip-hop producer of all time. His surplus alone in the mid-90’s was amazing - the first wu joint, rae, ghost, odb and gza. I’m off with the actual sequence, but rza dropped a lot of jewels over a short span. As for the production on the beats - a lot of his tracks are purposely arranged to sound choppy. Back when hip-hop was limited to the parks and local parties, most sound systems lacked true fidelity. And, by the time you got your hands on a party tape to pump in your box, the clarity was typically compromised. The “trained ear” of most new york hip-hop heads is a product of the basic element of unpolished beats & sharp rhymes. What i find appealing about rza’s style is the “streetness.” in other words, that clankity-clank boom-bap effect. For me, it’s a direct lineage to the break-beats that i grew up with. That’s not to say rza tracks or other new york producers are the only ones who capture the street element. Thankfully, hip-hop expanded across the country. Otherwise, it would have died a long time ago. We all know, that each region’s version/production style is basically indigenous with respect to artistic and social character. There’s definitely a lot of good music going on around the country, which is real healthy for hip-hop.

Yes that what im talkin bout but where indiana at

Werd problems...i understand whut your saying about the samples etc. Etc. Cats like alchemist still use old equipment. Just to get that gritty sound. Maybe i move too much to the clarity, i dont put distortion on nothing that i do. Nothing. I like it to sound crispy, like a snare doesnt always sound crystal clear tho. Its good to have different sounds tho. And i cant deny shyt like 36 chambers. Its just opinion of sound. My fav is dre. For the record tho....i like the why his shyt is arranged. And as far as raspy sound..idk...but dilla is about as far as i can stand. But i did like rick ruben on 99 problems...you gotta keep that sound around.

No doubt kalliope, dre’s definitely the man. The nwa projects, the chronic, and snoop’s first album are incredible pieces of work. Unarguably timeless production. I believe that dre came to fruition on the second nwa album (n*ggaz4life). His work was extremely polished and crisp on that joint, and has remained so since. I remember the first time i heard that joint, and began to absorb the way he laid his tracks. The chronic is basically a perfect work of art, and snoop’s joint is right behind. I just wish that dre put out more music in the late-90’s, and early 2-thouh

Hands down,i think the best "hip hop"song ever created was "liquid swords" (when the mc's came)the first song on gza,s liquid swords lp.i'm talking about the production and the lyrics.pure perfection.

Uuughhh....lol. Jus' thinking about those tight lyrics over those trash can beats make me wanna walk into their studio and smash err'peice of equipment they use wit a baseball bat...then yell "start over"....lol.
Posted by Kalliope4eva
Aww c'mon kalli, now; i feel that track, i just dont care for the talkin(inbetween choruses thats involve), but the crazy kung wung hip hop imbalance beat with the sick flow on top; its a beauitful blend..ya gotta dig it.
