Ron ArtestFormer NBA Defensive Player of the Year Ron Artest is slated to kick off a string of Fat Joe’s European tour dates this summer, premiering material from his forthcoming solo album ‘My World.’

The bruising forward, suspended for seventy three games in 2004 (remainder of NBA season), plus post-season play, for his involvement in a fan/player brawl in Detroit, opens a show in Lisbon Portugal July 28; then on to Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Norway and Denmark.

‘My World,’ Artests’ debut Hip Hop album, is due October 24 and, like his live mic skills, will receive international exposure. The project is being released via Lightyear Entertainment and distributed in the U.S. by WEA, in Canada by Koch, in Japan by JVC, and by unnamed independent distributors in Europe and other regions.

Since venting his desire to break from pro hoops and explore the music industry in 2004 Artest, this summer, has set the stage for Young Jeezy and performed at the pre-event festivities for Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam in June. Artest will feature Mike Jones, girl group Allure, Challace, Ruc, and Braska on ‘My World.’

Drug dealers want to be rappers, rappers want to be drug dealers, comedians and actors want to be singers, and ballplayers are still trying to rap! why can't people just do what they do?

Sair, i agree. It is good to be multi-tasked/talented. However, it is not good to be a "jack of all trades and a master of none". Do what you do best, stick to it, fall back on the other stuff when your money is stacked and the day job tells you it is time to go.

^no doubt. It’s solid to be multi-talented, but nothing is more important than a committed effort toward a solid plan a. Stay diverse, dibble and dabble, but maintain focuses on your plan a. Plan b’s are commonly distractive. Dr. King, magic, jordon, denzel, tiger, jay-z, etc. All became successful because of their plan a. None of them said, “well, if this doesn’t work out, then i guess i’ll…” success requires concentration and determination. If your plan a doesn’t work out, then shyt, find another plan a. I respect artest for his varied interest, and right to pursue his life on his terms. But, life is all about plan a. Strive to be great ya'all.
