Monday, August 14, 2006 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Swizz Beatz has agreed to produce, as well as assemble several big-name artists, for a new track aiming to promote peace around the world.
The tentatively untitled project is premiering next month during the International Day of Peace Concert on Sept. 21.
“Swizz Beatz is a perfect example of the caliber of artists who will be participating in the International Peace Concert,” said Rick Garson, who is running the concert.
The event will be formatted into a two-hour television special, and all donated proceeds will go toward a peace initiative.
In related news, the Bronx-born producer is also said to be collaborating with rap artists Eminem, Nas and Kanye West on several upcoming projects.
“[Eminem] reached out,” Swizz recently told MTV News. “I'm just taking it slow. I'm not even going [into the studio] with him. I'm just sending him the tracks. He's in a zone though.”
Swizz is also working on a song for “A 2Pac Tribute: Dare 2 Struggle,” a compilation album commemorating the 10th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death.
“Oh my God. It’s so ridiculous. It’s hard. I gave Nas about four joints. I didn’t even try to get no singles, I just went hard-body. I’m doing something on Kanye [West]’s new album. I’m just grinding right now.”
