G-Unity Donates $70K to Kids' Summer Camp
Wednesday, September 13, 2006 By: Kenny Rodriguez
50 Cent's G-Unity Foundation, which provides grants to non-profit organizations, is helping dozens of kids from his hometown neighborhood attend a summer camp for the
performing arts.
A $70,000 grant is sending fifty teenagers from Jamaica, Queens to the Summer Stars Camp in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where they will learn about improvisational acting, musical theater, blues performance, choral singing, and music video production.
In August, the G-Unit rapper paid a visit to the summer camp and delivered a motivational speech to the youth group.
"These kids performed a great show for me," 50 Cent said in a press statement. "It was exciting and rewarding to interact with them and give them an opportunity to showcase their talent."
