Or even more stupid, $10k on a pair of sneakers... Its a vain and unwise spirit that has been seduced by american culture to want to spend that type of hard earned money on materialism. Now this generation is full of self glorification and boastfulness. So what we need is not a book on how to finance or repair credit... But a book on how to re-new your minds and bring you back to. Get money and do the right things with your money is what he is saying. No need to get all religous. You gotta find the person who your worship yourself. Russell isnt a preacher. No need to preach righteousness. Thats not what he does. How can one man tell you about religion when he may not practice what you pracitce. Religion causes to much division among people anyway. Great job russell, the youth need to have guidance and a pathway the hip hop summit is providing just that. There are many broken dreams in the music industry and there many disappointments. Russell is saying you can achieve all that you want just be smart and educated and you will get to your mountaintop.

I think the best way to make sense of this move by russel is to look at it through the context of who he is... If i go to get my car worked on the mechanic don't have to share his religious viewpoints w/ me... (in fact i prefer that he didn't if his views are "dogmatic"). I would expect that my breaks are right, my tires rotated or my oil changed though... Russel is a business man so i think it's cool that he teaching the shorties how to get their paper right and if he drop a gem on'em bout. God then that is even better, but not to be expected...
