XM Radio DJ Cuts a Different Spin on Mixtapes

XM Satellite Radio personality DJ Furious Styles and DJ Dub will on October 9th release ‘Shine,’ a unique mixtape that offers business advice for aspiring music industry professionals.
“No one would expect anyone to do something like this,” says Furious Styles. ‘Shine,’ featuring emcee/entertainment lawyer Tracey Lee, actually provides legal council, “properly” defines record promotion, and schools listeners on budgeting and negotiating music publishing.
Record executive/rapper Jim Jones and Def Jam recording artist N.O.R.E. host ‘Shine,’ which highlights various independent acts from across the country, including Hall of Justice affiliate Skyzoo, Gillie Da Kid, Uncle Murda, T-Rex, Murda Mook, and Al Gator.
Furious Styles’ XM 66 Raw show ‘Shine,’ established in July, is an outlet for independent artists to showcase their talent. Material by acts such as Damani and Al Gator receives consistent airplay. ‘Shine’ airs Thurs;9am-10am (EST) and Fri; 12am-1am (EST).
