Lloyd Banks Donates To His Old High School
Monday, October 16, 2006 By: John Kennedy
Lloyd Banks recently returned to his Queens, NY high school to speak to current students and donate to the school's library. Banks was well received by students and administration alike, especially because he arrived at his Jamaica, Queens' August Martin High School with a check for $10,000 to be donated to the school's library.
"I just feel I wanted to start something new," Banks told Fox News. "I'm going to make sure I come back here as long as they accept me every year. Just to let [students] know there's something outside these walls."
Banks may have dropped out from his high school, but he says he took much from his days as a student.
"I loved English," Banks said. "The matter is I wanted to be a writer. You gotta take what you want out of it and it will definitely take put you in a good direction."
Banks has been busy as of late; his album, Rotten Apple, hit stores last Tuesday and in celebration, Lloyd got a full back tattoo with the words "Rotten Apple" printed across his upper back and a Statue of Liberty depiction wielding a gun.
The next single from Lloyd Banks' Rotten Apple is "Help," which features Keri Hilson.
