Foxy Brown Gets Probation for Salon Assault
Wednesday, October 25, 2006 By: John Kennedy
After two years of court dates, Foxy Brown was finally sentenced to three years probation and anger management classes for assaulting two nail salon workers in 2004.
During a hearing on Tuesday, Brown – born Inga Marchand – once again asked the judge to withdraw her guilty plea submitted in August, but to no avail.
“I feel I am innocent,” Brown said. “I feel I was coerced. I want to take back my guilty plea.”
Her request was rejected by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson.
The Brooklyn-based artist is ordered to undergo scheduled drug tests during her probation period, and must keep her distance from the victims involved for the next five years.
The 27-year-old rapper was charged with kicking one employee and smacking another in the face on Aug. 29, 2004, in an argument over a manicure payment at a Manhattan nail salon.
