Game, Ja Rule, Irv Gotti Find Truce
Thursday, November 9, 2006 By: Kenny Rodriguez
The Game and Murder Inc. have finally put aside their rivalry – stemming from the long-standing 50 Cent/Ja Rule feud – and the Game is slated to appear on Ja Rule’s upcoming album.
“Our problem stems from nothing,” Irv Gotti told MTV News. “I seen him at the [past] Grammy’s. Me, I know our problem all stems from bullshit. From somebody who I don’t like to mention anymore.”
Irv Gotti, the CEO of Murder Inc., explained he decided to approach the Game after he heard the Compton rapper reference his friend Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff in one of his rhymes.
“[Game] said some lyrics, if you remember, bigging up ‘Preme. So I went to Game at the Grammy’s and he was sitting with Jimmy Henchman [Game’s manager’. Jimmy Henchman is somebody I respect and somebody I’m rooting for. I’ve known Jimmy for a minute, and I’m happy for his success with Game. Me and Jimmy have a great relationship.
“I felt compelled to go over there. I put my hand out and said to Game, ‘Yo, thanks for what you said about my man ‘Preme, it gives him smiles.’ I said thanks for that, and I want you to know … [it’s] love!
“I seen Jimmy and gave him [a] pound, like, ‘My brotha.’ I know it took Game off-guard, but it was real. I was extending my hand to him, like, ‘Fuck all that bullshit.’
“Next thing you know, him and Ja Rule started talking to each other on the pager. He’s supporting us; we’re supporting him. It’s real.”
In related news, Murder Inc. rapper Ja Rule makes a cameo on Game’s “It’s Okay (One Blood) Remix,” and they are planning to collaborate on a track off of Ja Rule’s upcoming album.
