DJ Carl BlazeDJ Carl Blaze, of New York’s Power 105.1 station, died on Saturday from thirteen gunshot wounds he sustained during a robbery earlier this month.

Carl Blaze, born Carlos Rivera, passed away at Harlem Hospital Center where he was taken following a Dec. 7 shooting.

A NYPD spokesman said an investigation of the shooting which took place in Upper Manhattan, was continuing and there have been no arrests yet.

A police statement at the time of the shooting said a diamond chain that Blaze had been wearing was missing when police arrived at the scene.

The 30-year-old DJ spun records during Power 105’s late-night shifts every Friday and Saturday.

Psalms 68:20 unto the lord belong the issues from death. Death is also a spirit that will one day be destroyed from man by. Jesus. Christ. But until then... We don't really know the reason behind why this man got shot 15 times and died... Or sean bell got shot at 50 times by the police and died... But what i do know is.. They are both in the spirit world now... And i hope they have lived thier life righteously. Because you will be standing tall before. God and answering questions on how they lived thier life... Whether it was good or whether it was evil... All will come into judgement. And for the shooter or shooters.... And murders... You broke the 6th commandment of. God...thou shalt not kill....so, you too will be judged... And if you haven't repented.. Fire brimestone and hell fire await. R.i.p. Brother.

There have been some studies done that have produced some pretty solid evidence that n*ggas are indeed sub-human. One thing the "hypothesis" points out is the already established fact that many n*ggas have on average smaller brains and low i.q's because of it. Another fact this odious study uses in its defense is the fact that many n*ggas have more testosterone then other men, therefore making them more apprehensive & aggressive, and the study goes on to postulate that these two conditions alone (innate causes for ignorance/stupidity, and the other being aggression), makes the "negroid" prone to violent behavior and criminal activity. The study defualts the condition outside of historical and sociological pressures (like slavery, and un-natural breeding). But i do believe that on some levels intelligence is genetic base, although it has to be nurtured no matter the genetic degree. Having said that, i do think that generations of attempts to make n*ggas a permanent under-class of white america has had not only psychological and sociological effects, but bio-genetic effects also. We've adapted a decadent culture that only (bio-genetically speaking) produces athletes and entertainers... The smart n*ggas aren't getting their share of punetang......so we've been dumbing ourselves down with our loins for generations now, as we culturally, psychologically and socially fit ourselves into the only doors opened up to us by our one times masters........ We're only finding out now that maybe we are becoming
Posted by evenwhenilie
^continued.........we're only finding out now that maybe we are becoming bio-genetically specialized into our stereotypical/ often anticipated roles we help support through our own actions. I often notice the similarities between the average chineses stores in the average black neigherhood, they put up bullet proof glass because we robb and kill them, they've taken out the chairs, because we carve our names in them, they've taken out the video games because we break them....everything they've done is directly proportionate to our actions, and in doing so they've created a cage!
Posted by evenwhenilie
This is so senseless......rip my prayers go out to your family.......
Posted by gitback
R.i.p ...............so sad, take the chain and go why kill the man, you have made some interesting points there"evenwhenilie". Stereotypical "n*gga" behavior, and i have seen guys come on here and be proud about sh!t like this. Damn shame, this is has become "normal and acceptable" in the black community. The bar has been set real high for us hasn't it!
Posted by jah_bless
Yall need to really peep what evenwhenilie said. You may not like it, you may relate, you may disagree.... But if you take a look outside your small little world...you will see the last statement about black people still being in a "cage" is ever so relevant today. We as a people would never be looked at as noble, intellectuals, etc because we don't want that as a people. We want the fame, the glory, the money.... Its only going to get worse anyway as it is. We just like to complain about what we dont got, getting shafted, etc, etc. Yall know the deal. Be accountable for yourself, black folks right now are simply a bunch of followers. Ain't no originators in the black community anymore...its easier to follow and get a piece of the pie than carve out your own niche and start something new/original. Don't be a follower, you will be respected more. Be your own man/woman and in order to be that, your gonna have to deal with some hate because most black folks don't want to see another do good unless they are good themselves. We got so far to go its not even funny. We fought for freedom just to fight/hate ourselves. Its like all those years of suppression didnt matter. No other race of people is so separated and jealous/envious of each other than black folks. None! unfortunetly, nothing will change until thy lord returns in which at that point, lotta folks better have some good answers. Good luck all...we need it!

......the hypothesis i've drawn out above isn't nothing i prescribe to myself, but it just goes to show how far we've fallen not only in the minds of our one time oppressers, but also within our own minds. The bell curve, the g factor etc., these are demons we brought on ourselves, because through our own actions we validate them. I know we didn't bring the guns or coke here, i know we didn't make the guns or grow the coke.....but kill each other with them every day don't we. Accepting blame doesn't mean you are the source of the problem, but it gives you a chance to change some sh*t. Blame is theraputic to our success.......so yes i'm going to brake some blame off and pass it around my household and my neighberhood as well, and every black face i see....
Posted by evenwhenilie
.......p.s., we can talk about how we got in this situation all day, but when the time comes when we are ready to talk about how we are going to get out of this situation, you will find that that's a totally different conversation.......
Posted by evenwhenilie
Evenwhenilie you speak nothing but the truth!!! and it's a very sad state we are in. And it seems pretty hopeless as far as changing our way of thinking and if in fact this study is legitimate...that very scary and i will not be bringing any children in this world. One blood
Posted by BLACKCHICK
......well black chick, thank god it isn't true, but this is what's going on while we talk bullsh*t and act out in our own neighberhoods. Its amazing to me how i haven't meet one white person who hasn't heard about arthur r. Jensen's g factor, but i have yet to meet a single black who has. Another manifestation of how detached we are from our original struggles, and some new ones as well....

Evenwheniie. Damn good post about being caged in my brother..... I like the angle you came from on that one... I felt it.

Evenwhenilie, amen homes. On tha other hand, i really neva heard of this n*gga, but just like i said about proof, it's always sad 2 c a rapper/dj die in any way. Even if it's a rapper/dj that i don't like, they dedicated basically their entire lives into rap and always have tha same goals and that's 2 be tha best and that's 2 things i like in every rapper!

13 shots?? damn they didnt want him to survive... It couldnt possibly been just for a chain.
Posted by datopdawgindatown
Word up^ mos def.. It was not just for the chain.. A robber doesnt stand a chance to risk himself .. When they just want what they're lookin for and just bounce.. They really wanted him dead for some particular reason and they took the chain just for the heck of it.

I hate wreckless, ignant (yes, i said ignant) ass N*gg*rs, not n*ggas, this is a N*gg*r act. The white people are gonna have a ball having another statistic to add to our declining image in society not only as black people, but black hip hop culture. Why??? F*ck the bullshyt! r.i.p. Yet again to a brother trying to do right.

All these deaths and nothing is being done i am in jhs and this is what i have to see???? all these black men dying its crazy... Sean bell, carl blaze, who is next the news tells all sad news and it doesnt help that our "leaders" are dying its soo sad its crazy and when i mean "leaders" the only ones we have left i mean james brown just passed and i dont think this life is the on we should be living... I came home from school today only to find police across the street and detectives walking... What is going on.... I dont know what this future will bring........

The mentality of the young urban black male is on a social decline and has been in a steady free fall over the pass 25 years. What is the underlying factor for those who choose to follow the path of ignorance, violence, displaced manhood and complete lack of self worth and pride? what or who is to blame? ignorance: totally oblivious to his role in society, the typical young urban black male is indeed a product of his environment. He is unable to see beyond his life’s experience. Education to him serves no realistic purpose. The basket ball court and the street corner are his keys to “success”. There he develops his skills hoping to be become the next charting rapper, professional basket ball player or a real life gangsta’. Violence: in his struggle to “make it”, life for him becomes an all out war acting out aggressively towards what he perceives as a threat to his “success”. A culture of jealousy and envy also prevails in which individuals who are seen as “doing well” become the target of his aggression. Violent behavior also becomes a way of re-asserting his “manhood” which he has chosen to abdicate in search of street dreams. Displaced manhood: ironically, the role of the young black female has become one of provider and bread winner. Most black females choosing not to depend on these misguided black men are choosing to complete their education and obtain steady well paying employment. A good attitude though it may be, this has also caused a negative impact on the black male role in the house

Continued…. A good attitude though it may be, this has also caused a negative impact on the black male role in the household both as a strong father figure and provider. The black male is now in a struggle for himself and thinking only of himself has no fear of the consequences for his actions and in an attempt to salvage his manhood constantly asserts his masculinity through aggressive and threatening behavior. Lack of self worth and pride: this becomes truly evident when we see how the young black male would not think twice about taking another life over the most meaningless things. Think about it, if you do not place much worth on your own life, why would you possibly care about the life of others? do you even know what the word pride means? we can sit and blame the injustices of society, the unfairness of employment opportunities and the predisposed prejudices toward the black male in this country, but that, true as it may be, would be making excuses for a problem we need to start solving for ourselves. I challenge every young black male to disprove all the issues i have discussed as they go about their daily lives and to realize that they have the power within themselves to change their image as a whole towards a positive figure in our community.
