Ludacris Receives Award for Helping Runaways

Ludacris and his foundation have received an award from the National Runaway Switchboard, the federal communication system for homeless and runaway youth, for his new single, “Runaway Love.”

The NRS gave Ludacris its 2007 “Spirit of Youth” Award for his work in helping America’s youth, and for his latest song which addresses children who runaway from home due to depression and domestic violence.

“Since the release of ‘Runaway Love,’ Ludacris and The Foundation’s commitment to helping runaway youth and letting people know about the help they can receive by calling 1-800-RUNAWAY has only increased,” said NRS executive director Maureen Blaha.

Since Ludacris joined forces with NRS in late 2006, the organization has experienced a 17 percent increase in calls.

This announcement from NRS comes as Ludacris and his family deal with the passing of his father, Wayne Bridges, in an Atlanta hospital on Sunday.

Thats very good. I think more runaway youths will be recovered due to the act that ludacris has come up with this idea to find young and return them home

Well.. Ludacris has never been at the top of my list and still isn't, but he has climbed a little higher after reading that. He wasn't telling pissed off children and teens what they should do. He was trying to relate to them by telling their story. He used his publicity to do something positive and obviously it's working, so even if he should cut his hair- it would be a little narrow-minded to not somewhat appreciate what he has put effort into.

Before this article i got that song on my top rated list, sh*t ! ppl feel me, we need som'tin like dat, to motivate youths, for real !!! the lyrics of this song is ok, but chorus is fire, indeed, j blige, girl u do what u do.....more of this, less crimes and sh*t, we rap bout gasgsta sh*t coz artist just ran out of topics to rap about.....this song illustrate the realness, reality...props to dat n*gga
