Madlib, J Dilla’s ‘Champion Sound’ To Be Reissued

Indie label Stones Throw is reissuing Madlib and J Dilla’s collaborative album, “Champion Sound,” as a two-CD set with several bonus tracks.

The first disc will include the original LP with bonus tracks, while the second disc will feature previously unreleased instrumentals and Madlib remixes.

The reissue is set to hit stores on May 8.

“Champion Sound” was originally released in 2003 under the artist name “Jaylib” (a combination of Madlib and J Dilla). J Dilla, born James Yancey, passed away in early 2006 from lupus-related compilcations.

I deffinatley agree wit dust p....its always tha great ones tha are doing something great for hip hop that have to pass away. That's F*cked up. First big, pac, jmj, big l, odb, j dilla, big pun, much more. If all these greats was still alive, none of these wack muhF*ckas we be put on....the great ones die and the wack keep coming. Its a messed up music world at this point. I was downloading some dilla beats yesterday that was neva heard. Shit was ill!!!....i'm ready to do a mixtape wit unreleased dilla beats maybe someday!.....r.i.p jay dee!....the greatest producer on the mic!
