T.I. is putting the finishing touches on his next album, “T.I. vs. T.I.P.,” and has called on several big-name artists for guest appearances, on a project which he calls “a battle within myself.”
Eminem, Nelly, Lil Wayne, R. Kelly, and Justin Timberlake are just a few of the cameos on the Atlanta rapper’s upcoming LP, due to hit stores on July 3. There will also be production by Just Blaze, Scott Storch, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean, and Mannie Fresh.
As its title suggests, T.I. is adding a twist to the project – he will be rapping as two personas, himself, and his alter ego, T.I.P.
In a previous interview for Billboard, T.I. explained: “It’s basically a battle within myself. There’s not nobody out there doing what I do as well as I do it, so I see myself as worthy competition for myself.”
“T.I. vs. T.I.P.” will be released via Grand Hustle/Atlantic Recordings, and is a follow-up to his 2006 LP, “King,” which has sold 1.6 million copies.
