Monday, April 9, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
The music of Tupac Shakur will be commemorated during an upcoming festival in the Persian Gulf country of Bahrain, headlined by his former rap group the Outlawz.
A representative from DJ Outlaws Productions, who is promoting the event, hopes that the festival will “keep Tupac’s memory, achievements and message alive all over the world.”
The tour kicks off on May 3 in Manama, Bahrain.
Meanwhile in the US, the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF) is currently accepting movie submissions for a film festival scheduled to take place on Nov. 10 in Atlanta, Georgia.
“We are looking to grow this annual event and create a forum for filmmakers of all ages to showcase their work,” said Afeni Shakur, mother of the late rapper and president of TASF.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 1.
