Clipse Are Free Agents, According to Malice
Monday, May 21, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
The Clipse may be finally free from their contract with Jive Records after years of album delays and label setbacks.
“Right now Clipse are free agents,” group member Malice said during an interview with Toronto publication Eye Weekly. “There are a few labels that are interested.”
Aside from the blurb, it is unknown whether their contract is officially terminated. A Jive representative had no comment about the matter.
The feud between Clipse and their label has been ongoing for several years, prompting Pusha T to tell Rolling Magazine in 2006: “I hate Jive with all my heart and all the passion and my soul.”
He later lamented his choice of words, and explained: “When I say things, I’m speaking from the emotional side of an artist.”
