Kanye's LP Release Pushed Up To August
Thursday, May 31, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Album delays seem almost inevitable in hip-hop – but Chicago artist Kanye West has announced that his third album, “Graduation,” has actually been pushed forward a few weeks.
“Graduation,” originally slated to drop in September, is now coming out in late August, according to Def Jam representatives.
In the meantime, West has dropped a 25-song mixtape, titled “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” which features snippets of album material, unreleased tracks, and recordings from affiliates Common, Talib Kweli, and Consequence.
A video for “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” the first single off of “Graduation,” debuted last Friday on Kanye’s website.
The single is co-produced by West and DJ Toomp, and the video was directed by Hype Williams.
