Stones Throw Preps Projects For The Summer

Several artists on the indie label Stones Throw are preparing to release albums throughout the summer, including projects by Madlib, Oh No, and Percee P.
Producer/emcee Madlib will be releasing three full-length projects – the reissue of Jaylib’s “Champion Sound” recorded with J Dilla (June 19), a jazz compilation titled “Yesterday’s Universe” from his one-man band Yesterday’s New Quintet, and finally an instrumental CD titled “Beat Konducta 3: Beat Konducta in India” (Aug. 28).
Meanwhile, producer Oh No is dropping an instrumental album, titled “Dr. No’s Oxperiment,” which is comprised of samples from Italian, Turkish, Greek, and Lebanese records laid down during the 1960s and ‘70s. It hits shelves on July 31.
Then rapper Percee P will be releasing his long-awaited album, “Perseverance,” on Aug. 14 – which features cameos by Aesop Rock, Chali 2na, and Prince Po.
Lastly, the entire roster is featured on “Chrome Children Vol. 2,” the follow-up to the label’s original compilation which featured tracks by Madlib, J Dilla, and MF Doom. It will be released on June 19.
