Duck Down Gets Distribution From Koch, Preps LPs
Saturday, June 23, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Brooklyn-based Duck Down Records has reunited with Koch Records in a distribution deal, and in the next few months Boot Camp Clik will be dropping projects by Sean Price, Buckshot and 9th Wonder, and others.
As Sean Price works on his supposed final LP “Mic Tyson,” Buckshot and 9th Wonder are collaborating once again on “The Formula” – a follow-up to their 2005 acclaimed album “Chemistry.”
Meanwhile, Smif N Wessun (Tek and Steele) are also recording an album, currently untitled, scheduled to drop sometime in the fall.
Additionally, Edo G of Juice Crew fame has signed to Duck Down as part of a group called Special Teams (consisting of Edo G, Slaine, and Jaysuan). Their album, “Stereotypez,” is slated to drop on Sept. 25, and features production by DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Marco Polo.
Before then, Duck Down will be releasing a string of street mixtapes by Sean Price (“Master P”), Steele of Smif N Wessun (“Hotstyle Takeover”), and the Boot Camp collective (“Casualties of War”) on Aug. 14.
