Talib Kweli, Strong Arm Steady Prep Albums
Tuesday, July 17, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Talib Kweli is finally releasing his long-awaited album, “Eardrum,” just a week before his label affiliates Strong Army Steady drop their debut LP, “Deep Hatred.”
Kweli will be promoting his upcoming record during this year’s Rock The Bells tour alongside Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Pharoahe Monch.
His album features production from Kanye West, Hi-Tek, Madlib and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, as well as cameos by KRS-One and UGK.
“Eardrum” hits stores on Aug. 21 via Kweli’s Blacksmith Music.
Meanwhile, label mates Strong Arm Steady will be dropping their debut album, “Deep Hatred,” a week later on Aug. 28.
The West Coast crew – comprised of Krondon, Phil Da Agony, and Mitchy Slick – signed with Blacksmith Music in late 2006. Although former member Xzibit left the group last year, he still makes a cameo on the album.
“Deep Hatred” includes appearances by an eclectic group of MCs including Ras Kass, Juvenile, Chamillionaire, Dilated Peoples, and Black Thought of the Roots.
