[Update] T.I. Tops Billboard For Second Week
Thursday, July 19, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
T.I.’s latest album, “T.I. vs. T.I.P.,” maintains the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week, selling 175,000 units in the United States.
Although that’s a 63 percent drop from his last week sales (468,000), the two weeks combined have pushed the Atlanta rapper’s LP past gold status.
“T.I. vs. T.I.P.” beat out releases by rock group Smashing Pumpkins (“Zeitgeist”) and actress/singer Miley Cyrus (“Hanna Montana 2 Soundtrack”).
Overall, music sales this week are down 4.9 percent compared with last week’s total of 8.3 million units sold, and down 10.8 percent compared with the same week in 2006.
