Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am Works On Solo LP
Tuesday, July 31, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Will.i.am has been busy lately – producing tracks for Common’s “Finding Forever” and Nas’ “Hip-Hop Is Dead” just to name a few – but the Black Eyed Pea has announced a release date for his upcoming solo album, “Songs About Girls.”
While the rapper/producer has worked with everyone from Busta Rhymes to Michael Jackson to Carlos Santana, his solo LP will only feature one guest appearance: Snoop Dogg.
“I didn’t want to come out and say, ‘Hey, I’m a producer and here are all my friends,’” Will.i.am said, dispelling earlier reports that the LP will feature a cameo by Nas.
“I wanted to be my own man and do my own thing and really try out some ideas that have been bubbling in my head.”
“Songs About Girls” hits stores on Sept. 25.
