Beanie Sigel Records LP, Reaches Out To Kanye
Tuesday, August 14, 2007 By: Kenny Rodriguez
Amidst back-and-forth quips with label-mate Kanye West, Beanie Sigel is finishing up his upcoming album, “The Solution,” and surprisingly he hopes to get a few beats from the Chicago producer.
Last week Kanye appeared on the latest edition of Smack DVD, taking offense to earlier videos where Beanie questioned his and Pharrell Williams’ masculinity, saying they “might as well come all the way out the closet” – alluding to their flamboyant clothing styles.
“I’m not gangster, but I’m not gay either,” Kanye retorted, adding that Sigel “ain’t no studio rapper. I’m not beefing with Beans – that n*gga don’t give a f*ck.”
Beanie recently spoke to MTV News and explained there aren’t any problems between the two artists, and that he was even invited to appear on the remix to Kanye’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothin” single.
“I don’t really dwell on that sh*t, man,” Beanie said. “He called me for songs, so I guess [there are no problems].”
Sigel also said that he’s currently working on his album, “The Solution,” and while he’s been trying to get production from Kanye, it’s been to no avail.
“I been trying to get beats from that n*gga since before I went to jail,” he said.
Meanwhile he has already collaborated with producers Cool & Dre, as well as artists Scarface, R. Kelly, Raheem DeVaughn, and he hopes to record an untitled posse track featuring Eminem and Kid Rock.
